 So two and a three quarter: twenty quarter, two and a half so almost identical actually to the to the delica, the blade size, but look at the handle size much much smaller. You know the delica is much more comfortable. I think that's why it's so popular, because the handle is just amazing how it fits the hand it might look ugly, but it works. It fits in the hand, i'm not a fan of the metal handles

SanRenMu SRM 710 knife review

For the price, it's hard to beat this knife. It's difficult for me to comfortably flip it open because I have large hands and this is a fairly small knife. I've used it to cut up a metric *load of corrugated boxes--ironically enough, Amazon boxes. It still seems as sharp as new

 I'm not an alchemist, so I have no idea whether or not the steel is what is claimed. But it's not cheap high carbon or stainless steel, or I would have seen a marked decrease in performance during the breakdown of my mountain of Amazon boxes. Worth the price, for a "throw it in the bugout bag" contingency.

 It won't have the raw structural strength, ability to sustain abuse, or the ability to keep a freshly whetted and stropped edge through extended work as the original knife; it also costs well over an order of magnitude less, so it's available for people who don't have 500 bones to drop on a pocket knife.  There are two legitimate sides to the argument about whether it's ethical to buy one of these - looking at it in the hand it's plain that it copies the Chris Reeve design - or any similar knife. For my purposes, I'm mostly concerned with one thing -- build quality

 I don't expect this to be a be all end all steel but would at least like to know what I am working with.  2: Make the pocket clip mounting holes ambidextrous. I like to carry tip up. This knife is tip down only so buyers beware if that's a big deal for you  Pretty hefty little folder! Feels solidly built, blade centering is near perfect, solid lockup with no blade play

Solid knife for the money, have a couple suggestions.

 Blade lockup is still fantastic and the steel quality is such that it retains an admirable edge with some effort. For the money, this is one of the best knives I've owned and put it up against the Kershaw Chill for value.

 My only recommendation is to loc-tite the retaining screws as they tend to fall out after a few years. That being said, the frame still holds together even with all of the lockplate screws having fallen out, which is totally wild. Blade lockup is still fantastic and the steel quality is such that it retains an admirable edge with some effort. For the money, this is one of the best knives I've owned and put it up against the Kershaw Chill for value

Solid performer

 I also believe that its comparison to the CRK Sebenza is just barely appropriate for a number of reasons I will touch on. Meanwhile, nobody seems to compare it to the Kershaw Cryo, which in some important ways is a better knife and is only $10 more in price.  First off, the blade: Personally, I LOVE the design of the blade itself. I think the blade shape is actually more useful and attractive than the Sebenza (blasphemy!) and it has excellent jimping

 The Kershaw Cryo is barely more expensive and has real 8Cr13MoV, assisted opening, looks nicer, has better jimping, and has better forward traction if you needed to stab with it. I would basically only recommend this blade for EDC, and even then only if you value size and weight over tactical considerations (as I do). Otherwise, go buy a Kershaw Cryo and feel good about the fact that Kershaw is actually paying their industrial designers.

 The material of the blade, however, is merely ok. I have reasons to doubt the authenticity of the manufacturer's claims of material (8Cr13MoV). The material is soft, wires easily, and doesn't hold an edge in any special way. Perfectly acceptable for the price, but nothing earth-shattering

 If it is a nice knife and comes somewhat dull, I sharpen it, if it is a horrible knife and comes razor sharp initially but doesn't last or other negatives overshadow that, it doesn't seem like a huge positive anymore.  If you like the design, you won't be disappointed with the look or quality, they are both very good for the price. As an edc I think it is a bit on the dainty side, much smaller than I prefer to carry, and in my mind you could make a better case for it based on looks than on it's actual uses or function/structure. I personally don't prefer to carry this knife, and honestly would not buy another one

I am glad that others have found so much love for this knife, hopefully I can find one of those people to give this one to.  It seems to me, if you are looking for a cheap knife that will see daily use, there are better options out there at a lower price

 If you are looking for a well built knife in this price range, there are other options with more useful features that haven't stolen their design (which didn't honestly bother me until I handled the knife and saw it's other weaknesses). If you are looking to carry a small knife, that won't see much use, but catches the eye and has an appealing design, this one may be for you, otherwise, I would say move on.

Overhyped but ok overall

 It's just a tad bit on the heavy side in comparison to my Spyderco Native but the clip tension is just right. I had a CRKT Drifter once and although I liked the size, the clip was horrible. It was too tight and kept messing up both jeans and slack pocket. I thought I'd first carry this everyday since I wouldn't want to lose my Spydercos and Benchmades that cost up to $50 and above

Okay, putting aside the "knockoff Sebenza" stuff and the issues of intellectual property and international patent law I'm just going to focus on the knife. This is a fantastic knife. It is compact, lightweight and sharp as all get out. Lockup is rock solid and it is a comfortable EDC knife that will work for most things you will encounter every day

The blade steel is good, no it's not a "super steel" but if you look at the properties of some of the "Chinese steels" they are pretty good

  I own three Sanrenmu blades, as well as folders from Enlan, Ganzo, and Navy. I also have a bunch of non-bargain blades (nothing that cost anywhere near $200, though), and I would highly recommend this knife here for anyone looking for a knife they can chuck in a pocket or purse and have on hand when cardboard, tape, or the odd dowel or soda can needs to be put in its place.  Sanrenmu does a great job with the ubiquitous 8cr13mov steel: It doesn't quite keep as good an edge as most non-bargain 440C blades, but it's plenty hard enough for tougher tasks, and if it needs sharpening more often, then meh. The blade shape is good for cutting boxes and steak, but too wide for cutting out paper dolls

 You know this knife isn't going anywhere, but other than that it just doesn't feel like this sheath matches this knife. I don't feel like the over molded. Rubber grip really goes well with this black leather, and you can see there's this gap here. There'S really no thought to making this knife really fit this sheet, but that's something you do see on more affordable knives where the sheath doesn't necessarily fit the knife

 Now this knife has a roughly 4 inch. It'S a little over 4 inch blade which, for me, is a good length for an all-around fixed, blade knife. It'S got a good thickness to it and I ended up using this kind of like a pry bar and in that respect it performed really well now. The main reason I picked this knife was because of the handle out of all the knives the little shop I visited had

 I feel it's kind of strange that this handle can just come apart from the Tang so easily I mean you can really see what the Tang looks like, but that's it as far as edge retention goes. I was pretty happy with it. The factory edge wasn't that great and I wanted to use it right away, so I also picked up just a cheap whetstone. It took me about ten minutes to get an edge that I was really happy with now

Fist off it was cheap, need I say more. I have many high end skinning knives, but due to a friend who has an older one and he claimed it worked so well I thought I would try one. It reminds me more of my kitchen knives concerning the blade feel. But really the worst part is the sheath

 This knife fulfills those requirements. It is compact, but formidable for its designed purpose, and the quality seems solid. Now- here's the rub: It comes with a decent cowhide sheath, that has a keeper strap of the same leather, secured a metal snap. It closely mimics the original Made in USA design

I ordered this knife with full knowledge that it is ...

 The metal is a 7Cr17 High Carbon Stainless Steel which the previous version I could just find High Carbon Stainless Stell for the information. Time will tell on how it holds the edge. Hopefully it will turn out to be an excellent skinning knife but I always question the quality when the manufacturer doesn't take the pride of putting a decent edge on it to start with.

 I put an nice 40 degree edge on it using the Spyderco sharpmaker which always does a great job. I haven't used the knife yet in the field but I can visually see the difference in metal used between this version and the one made in the USA in years past. The current model with the gut hook is a duller finish and stamped with the model number 158OT. The etchings of the Schrade name isn't as clear as the previous model

 Four stars for the knife sheath. It is leather, but the knife catches on the inside when removing it.

Pros: A sturdy blade whose base runs through the whole handle. Comes very sharp. Also includes a leather case that works for storing or carrying around on belt.

Cons: The handle is proportional to the blade but may feel small for larger hands, however, three of my friends with larger hands have used it without noticeable issues.
