With the old one, it would bounce between a transfer speed of 30-50mbps which wasn't bad and was at least 10 times faster than the old USB 2.0 drive I had been using. I have only used this a couple days now but it seems to be everything it is advertised as.  

  I have 3 different brands of F/Drives among the 6 or so I own.  None of the others have password software but this ScanDisk  drive.

It is entirely possible for that software to delete the ORIGINAL FILES on your hard drive that you are trying to back up on the stick. If you don't use their security software, this is a fine product

 When done, I just write another image on the drive, then update the note paper. They have the performance I need, and the price is right for me. Highly recommended if your needs are Linux-related, or you just need reliable, portable storage. Definitely worth the 5 Stars

 How do I know what is on them? A 3x5-inch spiral bound memo book does the trick for me. They do get a surprising amount of use as live boot sticks, as I like to see how various distros behave on my aging laptop’s hardware. When done, I just write another image on the drive, then update the note paper. They have the performance I need, and the price is right for me

 You also got to remember it is san disk, it is a trustworthy brand and over the years they have become more durable (remember during the usb 2.0 flash drive days san disk drives use to break quite often). It definitely a good drive.

 This will cause you to not be able to transfer files larger than 4gb unless you reformat it. I used it for a smart TV so it worked perfectly being fat32 as the TV required it to be formatted as fat32. You also got to remember it is san disk, it is a trustworthy brand and over the years they have become more durable (remember during the usb 2.0 flash drive days san disk drives use to break quite often)
