 Connor, one of our testers, gave it a 5 out of 5 overall rating which is awesome and he thought it was definitely one of the better directional shaped boards with taper and a swallow tail. Who else rode this board? I think Eric rode this board and he gave it a 3. I thought it was super playful for the type of board it is and just easy going, easy to ride which is also great because sometimes you know from the beginning of the day to the end of your day you're getting tired, changing conditions. You always want a board that's kind of easy to ride but gives you a lot of performance

 I would say this would be a good board for intermediate and up. It's got a nice even flex. You can see that. It's not that stiff

22/23 DANCEHAUL

 I took almost a full season with this, and although I didn't get a ton of days, I waited for different conditions in each situation. For example, I got it in some pretty firm, but pretty fun groomers over at Mammoth. Then when I got home at Mount Bachelor, I rode some good groomers, but I primarily after that got it in varied powder conditions, but pretty good powder. And to give you a short summary, this hangs in there with the best of the best when it comes to that alternative free ride, a little shorter, a little wider, but it still has a very versatile do anything kind of feel

 So this review stands and I'm really glad I got to take the time and do this review properly and get this in all conditions and compare it against many of my favorites because it just shows what a great board they made and how recommendable it is, especially at this price point. So there you have it. All our reviews are a best effort, objective opinion from an average rider's perspective. There's no brand oversight and we're free to say whatever we want

 And if you want to go into the park and jib, this has a flex that's soft enough to do it. I didn't. But I wouldn't balk if my friends wanted to go that way and I wanted to hit a jib or two. I could do it on this

 It's very soft, it's very playful, it's very buttery, but yet still very poppy and energetic. It just has a very fun, dynamic, easy flex that can do a lot of things despite its tapered directional shape. It feels centered on board when you set it up on reference, but not too centered. It still has a little bit of that tapered directional feel, and it really compared well and stood out on its own in a lot of places against all these other favorites that I have here

Salomon Dancehaul Snowboard Review vs. Lib Tech Orca, Gnu Gremlin and YES Hybrid

 I'll go through how it rides on groomers, in powder and in the park. The dance hall has the rock out camber profile which means that it's flat between your feet, camber under your feet with rocker on the nose and tail. This is probably Solomon's most popular profile because it works well for so many situations and different riding styles. It has a medium flex rating so it isn't hard to push or flex the board but it isn't so soft that regular riding becomes hard work

 I've ridden and bought a few short boards in the past like the Ride War Pig and Super Pig as well as the Capita Slush Slasher so I had a decent idea of what to expect but I've had the most fun on the dance hall. I'm six foot tall, weigh about 155 pounds or 70 kilograms. Normally I ride boards at around 155 centimeters long. I tested the 147 centimeter dance hall which has a recommended weight range of 60 to 85 kilos so I was right in the middle of the recommended range

Salomon Dancehaul Snowboard Review

 Hello snowboarders of the internet, I'm your host, Avron LaFeber, and in this video, we're going to be reviewing the Salomon Dancehall. This board features Salomon's rock out camber profile, which is basically camber 2.0, so it's flatter in the middle, comes down into a rocker in the tip and tail, it's a little bit more directional, so basically it's directional cam rocker, and what you get is ease of entry, in and out of turns from that rocker, as well as more optimal powder float, and then the camber profile in itself is also easier to load up, which is going to give you that drive and snap from the center of the board back. This board is available in 143, 147, 152, and 157

 It's easy to engage off the front foot, but all the power derives from inside the back foot through the tail, so if you really want to crank it and lay it over, you're going to disengage that front foot, drive that back knee into the center of the board, and it's just going to whoop through that carve. You can lay trenches with this thing, or you can be surfy and just sort of cruise from one side of the trail back to the other and never really worry about it. Short, tight, quick setup carves, long, hard, drawn out carves. It's good

 This board has one of the easiest camber profiles to actually load up and then just give you pop, so when you load up that camber section, it activates that rocker, and you just spring right off the tail. It's very skate-like. You never really feel like you're aggressively loading it, and the beauty of that is you can launch off everything, whether it's a fallen-over skier, a side hit, a pillow popper, it doesn't matter. This board wants to pop

 People are going to ask why there isn't a current year review, so that's why you're getting it. It was nice to take this into some deeper pow. I just wanted to see how that actually rides and really push it to its limit, and it worked well. It floated well

 This board feels smooth and stable on edge. It's just fluid with its transmission from toe to heel It's one of those boards that feels predictable, you know it's going to be able to carve you don't have to worry about it the mid bite does take over when you're on edge and you Can actually ankle steer it really well and feel that control from just minimal ankle move No short setup carves or mellow carves are really solid with this board. You don't have to worry about anything You're locked in you're gonna be able to do it It's when you aggressively drive this board through that center camber and off the tail that you notice that it's gripping on that inside mid bite on the rear foot and You can really steer it and lay this thing over you want to leave a trench go for it You don't have to worry about it's got enough stability and dampening that it's not going to kick out on you Who's this board for the all-mountain rider with a slight freestyle focus? This is a super well balanced board and I like what it is You know, you've got camber with a little bit more rocker in there Which just makes it a little more playful and forgiving when you get into soft snow It's easier to butter on and jib with because you do have that wider platform You have slam back inserts if you want to set it back for a pow day. It's great It's just a well-balanced board

 So basically it's cam rocker You're gonna get that load and pop traditional camber underfoot But you got that ease of entry in and out of turns from the rocker as well as more Optimal powder float and a little bit more play out there. This board is available in 149 151 153 156 159 162 and 161 I wrote this board at Copper Mountain on a mostly sunny day with low to moderate winds Warmer temps you had chunder snow icy snow firm fast groomers kind of just a mix of everything that was springlike And I wrote it with my Rome black label bindings and my k2 thru-axis boots This board comes in on the stiffer side of the all-mountain freestyle flex I mean that's kind of to be expected with what this board is designed for so you do get slightly softer tip and tail and then it stiffens up through that camber section with a noticeable amount of torsional flex But it's not enough that you overpower it or that it domineers it this board is slightly stiffer I mean as I said you need to be aware of that so you're not gonna overpower it with that torsional flex now when it comes to stability The camber section through the inserts is the stiffest and most stable section of the board That's just a given and you have this clear defined flex point right where the camber comes down into that rocker You're gonna notice the chatter in the tips because it's especially amplified due to that rocker and that resonates back underfoot and right where that camber meets that rocker zone That's where it is abundantly clear that there is a flex point and it is not as stable as the rest of this board What's nice about this board is the camber coming into that rocker section. It gives you a little spring board So when you load that camber up it hits that rocker zone and it springs You're gonna get some solid snap this thing wants to boost side hits rollers It's got a decent amount of snap to it. Now when it comes to jumps Medium and large jumps are really a strong suit

 You're gonna spring off. You're gonna land. You're gonna look right away Now when you get sideways This more or less balances on the feature. It doesn't really cradle or hug it

The 2022 Yes Standard Snowboard Review

 Flex-wise it sits around a 7 out of 10. The wood core is sandwiched between more reactive triax fiberglass layers and this gives the board a slightly stiffer feel torsionally, which will suit riders who like to push their top end speeds and tend to ride with a more aggressive style. That's finished off with a lightning fast sintered base which absorbs a lot of wax and will keep the board gliding fast in all conditions, even if it's been a while since your last service. The standard has all the hallmarks of a modern day classic

 To all intents and purposes then, the standard is going to ride and feel exactly like a true twin snowboard. Here's where it gets a little different though. The guys at Yes put a lot of emphasis on the surface area of their snowboards and how that relates to performance in various types of terrain. And what they've done here is increased the volume of the nose with the slightly drawn out radius from the contact points out to the end of the board

Now this won't affect any of the boards freestyle or twin performance, but by effectively sneaking in some added volume at the end here, as soon as you take it off piste you'll benefit from all the added surface area by getting increased lift in the nose. Combined with these additional slam back inserts, if you do wake up to blower conditions you can simply position the bindings further back on the boards length and create a big difference in the surface area between the nose and the tail
