Hello OP, the shortest answer is that the TVS Gold is the *only* keyboard amongst the three that has a decent enough build quality to last you for a substantial amount of time.

However, after spending so much on the keyboard itself, would it have killed the manufacturer to throw in the riser system? I guess that will be my next purchase. The cables are heavy braided cord and build quality feels solid. Wish it was bluetooth so that I didn't need to have a cord on my desk but that's life. I don't game so not really going to be using those capabilities too much

Hey guys, I'm new to mechanical keyboards. I purchased around a year ago the Royal Kludge RK61 for a cheap price and I'm looking to replace it for a keyboard with better quality, the RK61 has quite the horrible layout for developers in my opinion and wobbly keycaps which are my main issues. I am a software developer so I'm mainly looking for a keyboard that is good for typing, don't really care about gaming, or RGB colors and stuff like that.

Between the keyboard halves works but it is awkward to reach in between the keyboard halves over and over again. Maybe implement a Thinkpad-like finger mouse, so one can do some mousing without moving hands off the keyboard? - The tilt kit is overpriced as two simple pieces of plastic, although it is well designed. If Kinesis is finding that most people are buying the tilt kit at the same time as keyboard, include the tilt kit and reduce the total price.

Personally, looking back I would recommend that people thinking about buying this spend a few more bucks and get one of the bigger names out there. I’m currently using a HyperX Alloy Origins wired keyboard and I love it. This keyboard is fine as a starter or something like that, but if you spend an extra 15-25 dollars you can get a (much) better quality keyboard that will likely last you for many years to come.

The split is nice (this keyboard's only redeeming quality), but for over $200, they could include the $1 plastic pieces to make this function as an ergonomic keyboard. Instead they charge $25 for them, and they don't work without the wrist rests, so if your desk has rests already, you can't use the tenting supports. I had high hopes, but I can't justify the cost of this keyboard, and I can't stand the squeaky, inconsistent keys.

I picked my Royal Kludge RK100 up for $80, it's usually $90 but there was a coupon that popped up on amazon. For $80, I couldn't be *too* upset about the lack of dissasembly options and the raised LEDs, but had I known that was the situation, I likely would have just gotten a Keychron K4 instead for a little bit more.

group buy key cap sets are amazing but most the time the bottom row is a pain. 4. Finally the overall construction. I understand that injected plastic is infinitely cheaper than say aluminum but it makes the typing feel a bit hollow

Mine is a USB-C all though the ad does still show micro usb in their photos. The RK software does absolutely nothing for me, neither does the firmware download. It's a pain to get it to even download and when it does open it just shows a keyboard with absolutely no options to choose from or anything.

After less than one month of use the keyboard is no longer recognized by Windows. Unfortunate as I was really starting to like it. I've submitted two support tickets with KINESIS and have yet to hear a word. It may be because of the resent world wide issues, but if not then I don't much appreciate their customer service

I just bought my first mechanical keyboard Royal Kludge RK61 RGB and it's great especially for it price. However in wireless mode via Bluetooth backlight turns off after 60 seconds. I already searched internet a lot for a solution and it seems like there is no solution for this stupid issue. I just can't understand why they made such a good product with full RGB customization and decided to turn lightnings off after minute and don't give customers chance to disable or change that setting

Also, the funky technicolor backlighting is not really my taste. Hopefully I can make it just a regular color. My touch-typing accuracy has gone down -- getting my fingers lined up on the home row is critical. However, once again, hopefully, this will bounce back once I have more hours with the keyboard

I have seen some people say that 60% just isn't the right layout for them so if this keyboard seems too small or foreign because of the compact size then I don't recommend buying it. If you don't think this is the right layout then I would recommend the TKL boards or the standard full-size layout. Overall if you are a gamer or someone who wants desk space then it's a good buy.

The good: I love that its a standard layout, the extra bulk doesn't bother me as i like having a 75% or TKL keyboard. The macro keys don't get much use but there are times when i just need some more keys whether it be in games or for work purposes. The palm rests are perfect and much better than the fabric ones that came optional on the original. Arrow keys are often left out of some custom split keyboards, and while you can use layers on the Dygma and ergodox I tend to just prefer the standard arrow keys Things to improve it to my ideal keyboard
