 Hello snowboarders of the internet. I'm your host Averin LaFever and in this video we're going hogging with the ride Mountain pig that's right mountain pig not war pig not twin pig, but mountain pig So let's dive into this review this board is available in five sizes 155 159 160 wide 162 and 164 wide this board features rides directional hybrid camber So what you get is rocker in the nose going back to about here And then camber all the way back to the back contact points basically directional cam rocker when you load it up It elevates that rocker in the nose a little bit better So you get better float and easier entry into your turns I wrote this board at Copper Mountain on a day that was a little warmer and had some humidity plus a ton of fresh snow They'd reported about eight to ten inches and it was still snowing throughout the day So the snow was a little bit heavier and what you got was powder groomers powder off the runs Just powder everywhere perfect conditions for this You know, I mean you could set the board on edge and feel that groomer underneath the powder But overall perfect conditions for this board and I used my k2 Indy bindings and my k2 thracsis boots Right away, you're gonna notice that this board is on the stiffer side and it's got a directional flex to it It goes from the all-mountain flex to the low-end spectrum of freeride flex very fast So what you've got is a little bit of play up in the nose And then it just progressively stiffens up through the tail with not a lot of torsional flex You really can't twist this board with your feet to steer it You more or less are driving it from the contact point now This board is very stable and it will plow through just about anything in its path It does not feel dead by any means but it is a damp ride One of the things that I will say about this board is you have to be very Calculated with how you load it up and how you pop with it It's not a board that's easy to engage you have to know when to load it and when to pop and even then it's Not a very snappy board. It's not one of those boards. It's gonna pop you to the moon You're gonna do a lot of work now I know that they call this the mountain pig and it's all mountain

The Ride Mtn Pig Snowboard Review

 It's more than a lot of all mountain boards when it comes to riding park and riding switch. It was OK, but that's not really what this board is for. It's very doable switch, but it's really more of a directional ride. And for park, I would hit a kicker with this and I had OK times riding it in the pipe, and I thought it was competent there, but it's really not for jibs or kind of all day park riding

 Felt like it was right for my weight. But I think a little bit lighter rider would probably like it even more. And it felt pretty good for my boot size, size 9. It's not like the other ride boards, the Pigs, that you want to size down and go wider

 On snow, it feels like it has more camber than it does. But it's pretty easy to skid a turn when you get off your game. Let's talk flex. It is stiff right here between the feet

Ride MTNPIG  2022 Snowboard Review - Same for 2023

 If you're flat base, the tail will be stiff. If you're on edge due to this split tail that's back there, it gets a little bit looser. There is some torsional flex to this board. It's not abundant

 There was chopped chunder ice and some hero snow in spots and I rode it with my Rome black label bindings and my K2 Thraxis boots. So first and foremost, this board is stiff. I mean, that's just a given for what this board is and it is a full directional flex, obviously, if you look at it. So softer nose progressively stiffening up to the tail where things get a little weird in the tail

 You're not ankle steering. You're center flexing that board from inside that camber point back through the tail. You want to do a long swooping carve? Go for it. You want to lay a trench? Go for it

 Yo Kevin where are we lapping right now? Yeah doing laps in the medium park here at Parishard. Got these classic light blue Parishard tubes and rails. Let's go hit some. Let's do it

 It makes it a little bit slower edge to edge but it does give you more of a platform to balance on on these rail features. That combined with the flat camber profile is actually making it feel really good on these rails. Got a bunch more laps to go. Let's keep lapping through this rail line here

 Oh and the last little bonus is it's got kind of a matte top sheet so you really don't need a stomp pad. The war pig is definitely not a beginner board it's going to be more for intermediate to more advanced riders and I think it's more for someone looking for like a one board solution an all mountain kind of snowboard it's definitely still fun in the park if you want to take some laps through there but I think the real strength on this board is going to be for carving and exploring the mountain and even taking it into powder so if you're looking for one snowboard that's going to offer all that performance for you check out the ride war pig. Ride Warpig Snowboard Review 2020

The Warpig is flat-to-rocker, a Superpig is proper camber and would carve better. As I get older, I’m not a fan of the Ride/LibTech graphics… And gravitate more towards Jones and Arbor’s style of being more understated.
