Quality

Great budget mechanical keyboard.

F1 through F12 are your media controls if thats what you're looking for. Overall, I recommend this board by far if you want something clicky, tactile, and loud. If you want a similar feel but quieter, take a look at Browns and other switches. Oh and it does not bend, quality is top notch for the price, and I'm not saying that as if you should expect a compromise in quality, this is a fine product and worth every dollar

Not a bad board but opted for another.

That attention to detail is important. The wireless dongle, again while present does have a very short range. The Royal is smaller than the K2 and I have big hands, so I felt a bit cramped when typing. No issues at all with that on the K2

Keycaps

Any uni students with a custom keeb, what do you have??

A Redragon K552 with some chinese pbt keycaps (same colour as the OP's photo actually, but side printed) and the original outemu red switches swapped for green/teal (the board has the outemu hot swap sockets and I bought a tester pack and liked green best). I don't know if you can really call that "custom" but it is "customized" at least. . Super budget compared to most of this sub but it's my first mech board and way ahead of anything else I've used in the past

.), but probably due to the ABS keycaps. Anyway, I replaced the switches with kailh speed Bronze and some PBT keycaps and everything feels right afterward

Build Quality

Great budget mechanical keyboard!

Solid build quality and very customizable. Pretty much everything except for the PCB can be replaced. Blue switches are very clicky, though the larger buttons can feel a little mushy at times. That is perfectly acceptable though, I don't expect high quality stabilizers at this price point

For those planing to use the 2.4 ghz dongle

pros: keyboard looks great -decent customization -good feel to it -no deck flex -small and compact cons: 2.4 ghz dongle has absolutely no range unless you plug it into a usb extender( i don’t know why but it worked once i plugged it in to a usb 3.0 or 2.0 extender no i can go a couple feet from it ) -software is well pretty useless the keyboard has all the short cuts that do everything the software does - i have yet to try the bluetooth but if the dongle doesn’t work well i can imagine the bluetooth will -i have gotten a replacement with the same issues so it’s not that i just got a bad keyboard or something like that because it had the exact same issue (not a con but just something i felt should be noted) -customer service is non existent(sent an message to them through amazon and got no response so i went though amazon’s support) - also weirdly enough the replacement worked even worse (now i have to send the replacement back and i’ll probably just deal with the usb extension even though that’s really not what i wanted to have to do)

Price Point

Looking for membrane Keyboard with 6 simultaneous keys recognition

Not as quiet as silent reds obviously, but you want inexpensive. Most membrane keyboards don't even mention if they support any kind of rollover.

Works on Mac! Way more than a budget mech.

I also wanted it to show up the next day, so keep in mind that these thoughts also include that I searched primarily on Amazon (which may or may not have limited me here, although I didn’t feel that it did based on the options I found on YouTube and other forums as well). The selection on Amazon is quite decent for boards in this price range.

Backlight

A Good Launch Point

The keycaps aren't the worst but they block a lot of the RGB light which getting new keycaps will reveal to you. All the colors are nice on the RGB EXCEPT white, which is almost lavender with the stock keycaps. And probably the worst thing about this keyboard is that it does not have a working driver to customize it's RGB in a program. It just hasn't been fixed by Red Dragon at all

Epic board, epic price - if you don't use the wireless modes. (updated 03/2021)

Looks just fine in the dark however, which is when the lighting is really needed. Tiny nitpick - the Mac toggle would be better if the WIN/ALT keys also had command and option labels underneath, no extra caps came with the board to help with this either. Also there's no INSERT key shortcut anywhere that I can find. If you aren't going to make use of the two wireless modes and don't mind the slightly dim backlighting, get this board

Weight

First time buyer here. I love this little thing!

An optional keycap would be awesome seeing as this product works on both systems, but I'm really not all that tore up about it. It is rather hefty in weight, but that makes the experience all that much better seeing as it really holds the keyboard in place if you have to use it in your lap for whatever reason! This is my first Mechanical keyboard, and I have done extensive research that all led back to this being my best starting point. I'll be re-reviewing this one year out to see if my opinions have at all changed. :) Big thank you to this company for putting this product out there

I just bought the Royal Kludge RK84 (80%) with hot swappable brown switches. Not sure how to explain it well, but the keys are much heavier than my Keychron K2 w/ Gateron Browns. It's kind of tiring to type quickly for extended periods of time.

Ergonomics

For the price, definitely worth it.

If you do not like using wrist rests for your keyboards, then the ergonomics should be fine.

Had to get a wrist rest to keep from pressing keys on the edge inadvertently. It is not a low profile keyboard.
