I bought this controller after my gen 1 Xbox Elite Controller started getting unacceptable left stick drift and had broken LB twice. I wanted the gen 2 Elite, but I decided to give this a shot. My main game is Rocket League, so this isn't from the perspective of a shooter main. Customization on Windows is also much less robust than with the Astro C40 or Xbox Elite Series 2 gamepads. You can program the six buttons on the back with any input, or set any of them to Focus (reduce sensitivity on either analog stick) or Agile (increase sensitivity on either analog stick), but you can't reprogram the standard face buttons or triggers.

Aperture Hand Labs demonstrates the controllers' effectiveness by walking you through waving, hand shakes, fist bumps, and manipulating objects. Every interaction felt natural, and the controllers offered gentle vibrations to indicate when I touched a robotic hand or other object. Vibration adds to the immersive, finger-detection effect by letting you know when you’re directly interacting with something in- game. It can’t replace feeling something with your fingertips, but it’s a good start

Maybe it was just my controller and other buyers aren't experiencing this but I wanted to put it on the review in case others are seeing this issue.

The trigger rumble is super strong, wow, and does cause rattles but it's so strong, how could it not? But alas on PC, I've only got to feel the triggers rumble in the setup app, because the feature is narrowly supported on xbox, and apparently non-existent on PC, because I haven't found any games that used it. The ability to adjust analog sensitivity on the fly is a life saver. But there is one more thing and that's parts availability. There is none

I also get headset jitter on the 8KX (something else I've seen reported) and for some reason the Index Controllers jitter a lot more when paired to the 8KX and sometimes fly off into the distance. I've seen other people report this and there's a thread on the Pimax forums where this has been "fixed" by pairing the controllers to dongles instead of the headset. Yeah, nah I'm not doing that. Also the software is sometimes fine, sometimes terrible

Be EXTRA fucking careful with it, get a good pulley system and make sure the cable has enough slack to reduce stress on the cable, don't tilt the headstrap up to avoid bending the part of the cable that connects to the headset, don't click too much on the joysticks to avoid chances of developing joystick drift, in fact don't use the joysticks at all and switch to the pathetically small touchpad, don't drop the controller even 1 foot off the ground or your trigger will pop off, I could go on.

For other non Shooter games the controller works splendid. I mainly use the two extra buttons on top (M1, M2) for my gameplay, and out of the 4 buttons on the back I only use 1. I actually like the location of those buttons because since I don't use them, I don't feel they are on the way, I have big hands but never touch them unless I want to reach for them. So for me it's comfortable

On the Q1 my gameplay stutters and lags far more, distractingly so, than when I play on my Index. On the Index, the video image is transferred using Displayport

This is a good thing as too much deadzone can have some very negative impacts to gameplay. Furthermore, their response curve claim is not something the hardware has any impact on and is not a feature of the Razer software. It is likely that they're using a third party software which is messing with the response curve (Steam "Big Picture" did some wonky stuff to it for me and took a little tweaking to fix, but still a great addition to this product). The second claim of this product not working on PC simply isn't true

The 1440x1600 per eye resolution (the same as Oculus Quest, surprisingly) looks good, but it's the extra field of view that really makes things seem to pop. One thing to note: the Index doesn't have eye tracking.
