These are serious speakers - nice quality construction. They are presentable for being in open view in a classy room, and totally do the job for sound. More than you'll need for indoors, for sure. They're pretty big - about a foot tall by maybe 9" deep and 6" across the front, and weigh at least 10lbs each

 The cabinets themselves feel extremely sturdy for their size and definitely don't give the impression of a cheap enclosure, they feel like they'll last forever. My one major complaint about the enclosure is that there is only one set of binding posts leaving no option for bi-amping if you wanted to (and this is something I have done with the RTi6 in the past). It would have, I figured, been a minor extra cost for a second set of binding posts and some jumpers between them to at least give the option even if bi-amping speakers like this would be overkill to be sure.  Sound wise, I find the P5s to have a big punch in the low end for their small size

 They still can't match my much larger speakers with bigger woofers but they left me impressed with how they sound on the low end given what they have to work with. I listen to a lot of electronic music and where I keep my bookshelf setup I don't want a subwoofer so this is always an important consideration for me, and I found I've been satisfied with them in this regard. Bizarrely the tweeter is placed underneath the woofer here where usually you'd find them above. According to PSB this is done on purpose to compliment a fancy new crossover inside, whatever the reason it certainly doesn't hurt how it sounds

 My other pair of speakers that are of similar stature are KEFs with 5 1/4" Uni-Q drivers, they are self amplified and such can't really be used as an apples to apples comparison.  I'll start with my feelings about the frivolous looks stuff. Honestly, I don't find the P5s to be very attractive speakers but this is extremely subjective and I can see how someone else might disagree with me strongly. They are very minimal, which I normally like, but there are practically zero frills in the design department to set them apart

 The mids and highs remain clear with good definition all the way through from low to high volume without any kind of perceptible distortion I can hear, at least using my stereo receiver (~90W/Channel at 8 Ohm) I could crank the volume all the way up without the P5s falling apart. For their size, I don't think I've heard better speakers unaccompanied by a subwoofer for the price.  I have to admit, I wish the speakers looked more "special" as they just don't look as good as they sound to me. That being said, I'd rather have plain speakers that sound great than flashy speakers that sound bad so PSB has got their priorities right here

 The acoustics of the cabinet provide a richer sound. What you are left with is crystal clear tones that fill the room.  They are standard squarish speaker cabinets giving it a design aspect that will fit in with just about any decor. The front grill is removable for washing or so you can display the speakers

 The P5's thunder out the bass. Blast out the highs and really kick butt with the mid range.  The look is very deceptive. With the right pre amp you have classy looks with power that is rich with sound

  They are standard squarish speaker cabinets giving it a design aspect that will fit in with just about any decor. The front grill is removable for washing or so you can display the speakers. The choice is yours. Personally I like the grill off because the speakers look good

 Obviously these are better performance than the P3's, but not in richness of sound. It’s in the punch. You know what I mean. Some speakers the sound is there but it’s kind of hollow

 I like the very strong magnets that hold the grill in front, making them good looking with or without the grill.  Also, the tweaters are protected, so nobody can push them in with their fingers.  I personally didn't like the logo on the speaker grills, but it was easy to remove. The remaining adhesive came right off with a bit of cleaning alcohol

In short, I'd buy them again right away!  Very well built, and very strong and clear sound. It's very hard to found a fault to those speakers, really. I like the very strong magnets that hold the grill in front, making them good looking with or without the grill.  Also, the tweaters are protected, so nobody can push them in with their fingers

When watching movies I found that I didn't have as much of a hard time hearing the voices which was nice! It offers outstanding voice assistant support with Alexa and Google Assistant built-in and has little trouble registering your commands from far away and in noisier settings. You can activate your assistant with your voice, and you can mute the speaker's mic when you no longer want it to listen to you.

With its Trueplay room correction feature enabled, its sound profile is fairly balanced, making it suitable for listening to a wide variety of audio content. It’s far overpriced for such a small speaker that lacks sound. You are paying for convenience for those who already have Sonos speakers throughout their home like me. I do enjoy taking it in and out of house and having my music all playing at once but the sound is weak.  So i can see the rom being popular with existing customers who are looking to expand their system with another room of music, such as a bathroom or kitchen, with the option to then take out into the garden or on holiday. I can also see people who are new to sonos opting for the rome as a good, portable speaker solution and also an affordable way to start off a sonos home setup. So, let's briefly cover the pros and cons then, so i think the main pro for the rom is the flexibility of both wi-fi and bluetooth control. This sets the room apart in a very crowded market, as it's not just a portable speaker for taken away, but it can also be part of your sonos home ecosystem and offer another room of music

You also have the option to use voice control via amazon or google assistant, or you could use spotify connect or apple airplay 2. If you've got an ios device, the top of the speaker, which is rubberized to be more rugged and durable, features top panel controls such as play, pause, skipping track previous track volume, controls and a microphone privacy button for muting the voice assistant temporarily, the shape of the Speaker has been designed in such a way, so it doesn't roll around as easily as other portable speakers and the roam will automatically adjust whether it's in a vertical or horizontal position

1.  You can set a volume limiter on the Roam, but it doesn't actually show what the volume setting is at.  When I increase volume on my mobile device, I don't know if that is just the bluetooth volume on my phone or of the Roam itself.
