 The unit that I've tested on the bike this week is the road NG Eco Which I will call the NGco. NG standing for next generation, which is released a few years ago now. Eco I believe stands for economical because this is the trimmed down version of the NG model on features and on price The specific version that I have is a 110 BCD 4-bolt rotor crank compatible version Which I match with Shimano Dura-Ace chain rings with a claimed weight of the spider itself the NGco of 158 grams We will put that to the test. Onto the specifics of this unit It's a spider-based Power Meter

It can be knocked off So as a roadie not an issue, but something to be aware of with that battery cap design So that's a wrap from me on this one the power to max ng eco spider base power meter It was great to finally install something on the bike that I was happy and confident with from pedal stroke one through to pedal stroke Few thousand down the road. There was nothing I had to question about this unit It's a rare occurrence these days that I don't need to contact the manufacturer and ask questions. Is it staying on the bike?  I did check for new firmware versions There's none for the unit that I have so it's always a good thing to check for firmware Anyway, I'm also hoping within this code is some updates to the iOS stability when updating firmware I didn't have the best of times updating my NG code with iOS. It worked a lot better on Android Okay, here we go in the llama lab connecting to the power to max NG code with the new utility Takes a few seconds to connect That's got the connection just pulling up all the information over Bluetooth And There we go. We have battery state and we have a few other things on the screen We can click through so let's get started by clicking on device information Everything there is in check. So back to the main menu and we'll click on upgrade now I've already clicked on the trial period enable and that was 14 minutes ago You can see that on screen and that's given me additionally balance smoothness and torque which weren't there as part of the standard offering with The NG code power and Bluetooth were always there, but I now have those three additional data points for the trial period So the trial period is enabled we can jump over to settings and we have a few more settings So we have auto zero on we have ant plus on power adaption We'll click on that changing the calibration we can scale up to plus 15 percent or we can go down to negative 15 percent Yeah, nobody's got time for negative 15 percent power reading
