Pentel Graphlet vs Uni Kuru Toga

The very first thing that hit me is that it did NOT come in a nice blister package to signify it's brand new and unused! Next folks, is that this mechanical pencil is entirely too slim! Plus it's extremely easy to break the lead. This is a product to bypass with due diligence as it's so thin and easy to damage it possibly. This mechanical pencil is one to write off and keep shopping! If you especially have a heavier hand, you will be frustrated with this product. I read reviews but found nothing about how thin and light handed you MUST be with it

The lead in this pack is good lead, although oddly, it is not the lead specifically designed for the kuru toga. The kuru toga lead can be purchased online and put into this pencil, although the NaNoDia lead does work well enough.

i write a lot, mostly technical stuff, drawings equations and the like.. like a pen or pencil that fits my hand and does not produce fatigue. this is a nice pencil very light

Why? It's the Grip. It's Smooth Metal, with a very few Grooves. It feels slippery in the hand, while the Roulette has a knurled Grip and is easier to hold onto, while still having a high quality construction. I do hope that Uni will update the Roulette with the "W Speed" Mechanism currently used in the Pipe Slide and Advance Models

I gave it a 4 Star rating because of the lighter weight as compared to more traditional drafting/drawing pencils, but that may be a little unfair. The Grahlet is a welcome new tool for scribblers and sketchers and diarists.

I don't have to. Minor wish: it's a hybrid, metal with few plastic parts. An all-metal option would be great; just a bit more weight. This almost docked a 1/2 star from it, though its good enough overall to be pushed up to five for the autorotate

I also carry a thin pencil eraser and a larger block eraser with me because, as a student and constant doodler, I erase a lot. (and when you're taking notes in a lecture you don't always have the time to take the cover off the back of your pencil to erase a mistake). The eraser also has a little metal rod stuck into the bottom of it that is also .3 sized to use if you accidentally break of small pieces of lead and they're stuck inside the tip

I'm honestly not sure why it can't have the same eraser as the plastic Kurutoga models, which is still not a great eraser, but is a bit thicker than this one. The issue is not much of a bother to me because I use a separate eraser either way, but it may be of concern to others.

Just got this pencil for my everyday writing, and I had to jump on here to write a review because the quality for the cost is really impressive. Not only is it very sturdy, but it also looks professional and well-built. There's a cap on the eraser to keep it from getting dirty, which may seem excessive, but I think it's good to have just in case you'd like it. I also prefer this ribbed grip to the rubber kinds that most other pencils have

That's why I like fountain pens. As you said, it's the balance between smoothness and control.
