If you mainly use one bike and want your phone out front, the Peak Design Out Front Bike Mount is our top choice. It has most of the pros of the Peak Design Universal Mount with the added benefits of a more streamlined setup. It's just as easy as the Universal to remove your phone and place it back on the magnetic pad. Like the Universal Mount, it "sucks" to the bar mount when you get it reasonably close and is very secure on bumpy terrain &#40;with some caveats listed below&#41;. 
This scored lower than the Universal Mount because it is not fast to install or swap between bikes. While it comes with adapters, it does not work perfectly on all bar widths. For example, the extra bar inserts were too big for our test mountain bike. But without the inserts, the mount became loose and slipped off on bumpy terrain. We fixed the issue by wrapping the bar with some tape, but this is not the most aesthetic or simple solution. This mount is also more expensive than the Universal and, like the Universal, requires a case specific to your phone. The case does not work well on standard magnetic car register: it is not "one case to rule them all." This is a great mount if you mainly use one bike and take the time to dial in the setup. But most people will be better served with the Universal mount.

 Okay moving on let's assemble the tablet mount section to the handlebar clamp, it's pretty easy, you have to flex the bottom section out slightly, it feels like it's strong loaded almost, as you can see it's too big there so you have to kind of pull them apart, it's serrated inside so it holds the angle of the iPad if that makes sense, so yeah it's free to wiggle around but not exactly, use this bolt and finger screw, the bolts, it's a pretty good design because one side is captive so you don't need a spanner or anything to hold the bolt, just drop it through the hole, align it and make sure it's at home, yeah pretty good design I think. Then just put this finger nut on it and that's pretty much it, you're free to set your angle up and just nip it up with your fingers, it doesn't have to be super tight. In the brackets the bars are super simple, you just press that section at the bottom to open up the jaws of the clamp, drop it over the bars and there's this C-shape section at the bottom you have to drop in so that takes the weight of the system against your stem and that's it, that's pretty much set up against your bars, I'll show you that again from another angle so it's really obvious what happened, just drop this little piece in here and that takes the weight of the system against the stem. Last stage then is to open up the arms and drop your tablet of choice in, for me it's an iPad 4, so yeah just loosen off the nuts at the back and drop it in and close them up pretty much, it's really simple, there's not much to it but it holds it fairly securely, I think it looks alright, it does the job, just twist these little nuts up at the back and you're ready to go

 Right that's the two lower ones done, it was a bit of a faff, it's easier to do it from the rear side so you can see what you're doing, let's move on to the top ones, again I'm going to fast forward this bit so it's a bit boring. So far I'd say this is the only negative part of the process, a bit of a faff to get on but with persistence you'll get there, it's nothing too hard it's just annoying, it should have come from the factory like this. Let's move on to setting up the clamps section, as you can see there's three different size adapters for handlebars there, I went for the big ones initially but retrospectively I should have gone for the mediums, the bars are 31.8, they're oversized but they're oversized across the top but for whatever reasons I went for the really large ones, I went back to the medium size but they're pretty easy to push in, again it's a little bit faffy but it's not hard, you just push them in, it's pretty simple, get them in there and job's a goody

 So let's start and have a look around the box, see if there's any interesting information.

 Pretty sure it says the same on all sides and what size of tablet it's useful for.

 And there's a whole bunch of stuff there no one's ever going to read.

 That's about it from the box point of view.

 Right, let's open this thing up and see what's inside.

 So this is the main bracket section for holding your tablet of choice.

 For me, I've got an iPad so that's what I'm going to use.

 Digging a little deeper, what's under here, this is a generic bit of cardboard.

 We've got the, this is the clampy bit that clamps around your handlebars.

 It's pretty good, sprung loaded on that section there to obviously open up to go around the

 handlebars and these are like rubbery bits, rubbery bits that adapt to your handlebars.

 Some literature in here, instructions, goes fairly in-depth in how to do it all fairly

 There's no real nasty surprises, all fairly simple.

 This is probably disclaimers and I don't know, whoever reads this, no one's got time for

 that have they really, put that to the side.

 Let's get assembling this thing together.

 so we've got adapters for the old inch standard handlebars, adapters for 31.8 standard normal

 handlebars these days, modern handlebars, and there's adapters for must be oversized

 handlebars like the Deed of 35s they did a few years ago, so any handlebar should work

 Other c-shaped things, a clamp to hold it in place, another handlebar adapter, and these

 are little rubberized feet that your ipad sits in and gets put on the main section to

 stop scratching up your ipad, and this is the wing nut and bolt that holds two sections

 Next step is to install these little rubberized ipad, I'm going to call it ipad feet, it's

 not a really good name for them, this protects your ipad from the scratchy plastic and makes

 it a bit of a safer place to put it, I found it a bit tricky to actually stick these things

 in, it didn't want to snap into place particularly easy so I'm going to fast forward this bit,

 but you know with a bit of persistence you can get there, it's not a problem.

 Right that's the two lower ones done, it was a bit of a faff, it's easier to do it from

 the rear side so you can see what you're doing, let's move on to the top ones, again I'm going

 to fast forward this bit so it's a bit boring.
