Best: Patagonia Nano Puff, I love this jacket, so leight weight and versatile. Great outerlayer in Autumn in Germany so far.

Thought it might be interesting to see people would deem their best and worst purchases of 2020.

For me, it has to be the following:-

Best:- Gipsy Arne Slim Fit Leather Jacket £167 - The new leather jacket has distressed two tone type finish, with zip and rivet detailing, it’s made from a soft flexible leather and is lighter than expected for a leather jacket. The stitching and jacket lining seem ok (there are a few stitching errors but nothing terrible) as far as leather jackets go it was very much in the budget tier and the quality difference between it and the other jackets I own is apparent but it’s still well made and the fit is true to size which is the most important part. The thing that makes this stand out for me as my best buy of 2020 is that it just feels great to wear, it’s definitely leaning towards the casual side of things and works great with a basic plain white tee and dark denim, it’s versatile enough to wear for multiple occasions and looks good over a shirt if required, one additional bonus is that every time I’ve worn the jacket since getting it this summer someone has asked about it, even to a point where strangers have stopped me to enquire about it. The strangest thing is that it came from a website that I would usually never shop on, so one lesson here is to explore outside of your comfort zone as you might be surprised with what you can find.

Worst:- Artisan Labs - Essential Sneakers £125 - It really pains me to say this as I had high hopes for these sneakers, they offer fantastic quality at a more affordable price than the competition within this type of “luxury sneaker” minimalist market. The sneakers themselves are full Italian calfskin leather, they come with a Margot soul and the construction is fantastic. The sizing is good and they fit comparable to some of my other premium sneakers. I was so stoked for these to arrive but after only a few wears they have been gathering dust on the shelf, I don’t know what it is but every time I wear them I get blisters, I’ve tried changing to thicker/thinner socks but no dice, I still get blisters and sore feet every time I wear them. This has been a huge disappointment for me with this purchase and down to the fact that they now see no rotation in my wardrobe makes them my worst purchase of 2020 and nothing more than an expensive display item. It’s a real shame because a minimalistic white sneaker is so versatile and I expected them to be a staple within my regular rotation of outfits. The search for a good full leather white sneaker continues...

 Another great feature is just how much space you get at the cuff with the ribbed cuff over the top. You're getting into your watch, making sure you catch the last lift or before closing time obviously. And of course, the Patagonia Men's Nano Puff Jacket wouldn't be a decent jacket without the internal pocket which turns into its own stuff sack. It's almost more of a challenge if you're on the lift on the way down

 Also, I've seen a lot of people and I've got a couple of friends who use this jacket in the Alps for dry, colder conditions where you need the lightest possible jacket, it is absolutely brilliant. And if the rain does come in a bit quicker, the windproof and highly water-resistant shell will keep you warm.  It's just water resistant coating which basically means if you're in a light mist or you get a little bit of water on it, it's just gonna feed right off. Now if you are in heavy rainstorm, it will just kind of soak through over time. It's not a waterproof material. Like I said, it is just a DWR finish so it's water resistant coating

 If you did your hair, you got to make sure your hair looks good. So definitely if you're looking at it I would say do the full zip over the pullover unless you know you're gonna be using it somewhere where you're just not gonna pull it off as often or if you just love pullovers go for it. Second thing I don't like is there's not a lot of stretch to it. It is just kind of like if I there's no stretch just none

This Nano Puff Vest is sleek and versatile: It’s decently warm, light, packs down small, and looks the part for both casual and active use. It’s also less expensive than a comparable down vest and noticeably lower-profile.

What are the downsides of the Patagonia Nano Puff Vest? The PrimaLoft Gold Eco insulation is pretty darn warm but not to the same degree as down, so this vest isn’t built for frigid conditions (it’s ideal for fall, spring, and as a layering piece).
