OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner vs OXO Steel Salad Spinner

The product does what it's supposed to do, but after about 10 trips through the dishwasher the plastic ball warped and bent out of shape (product says dishwasher safe). Amazingly, as long as you squeeze the top on it still does an effective job, but I was disappointed in the plastic bowl. I do have a very good brand new dishwasher, too, so I know it's not a faulty appliance.

I only wash the this salad spinner by hand & have never put it into my dishwasher & will never put it into my dishwasher because I want it to last & I wash all of my stainless steel products by hand. I also use the stainless steel bowl for organic gluten free air popcorn & for huge salads because it has so much space inside this wonderful bowl & plus it is so easy to wash out & dry out because the surface is just so nice & nothing stick's to it at all. So you should go & purchase this Salad spinner because believe me you will be happy that you finally paid more for a salad spinner because I surely was after I got it & used it.

There’s no reason except the company’s cheapness that they’re not. The inner bowl isn’t as easy to clean and it will break sooner than the metal outer bowl. Same goes with the top, the spinner mechanism and lid. I believe reviewers who have said it broke with minimal involvement from them

We cooks might be morons but we are morons who can use a salad spinner better than any group on the planet. Wanted to love this product, will stick to the plastic version if we ever bother to replace the metal one.

Another thing that struck me right away was the sturdy strainer. It is really quite strong and you could easily use this for your daily vegetable wash.

Recently tried this salad spinner out and I would definitely recommend this product! First and foremost I love the stainless steel design of this salad spinner, it's sturdy, and very well made. This salad spinner works great and really gets alot of moisture out of produce! What's great about this salad spinner is it also features a button that you can simply press to stop the salad spinner when you're ready to stop spinning! That's something super convenient I found. Overall, this product works great and I'd buy again!

It didn't spin or dry as effectively for me. I knocked off a star due to that, but it's absolutely a 5⭐️ for someone who is using this for a multiple people or larger amounts. I ended up returning this, and switching it out for the OXO smaller salad spinner which is perfect for my needs.

The mechanism that you push up and down to make the salad bowl strainer spin broke into many pieces while trying to use the 2nd time. The first time was fine after that this product became useless

Works great and it’s dishwasher safe in the top rack. However, only the two bowls fit in the top rack leaving me to hand wash the lid piece. Is it a pain? Sure, but in the grand scheme of things, I’ve had worse hangnails.

The metal bowl allows me to mix my salad in it after spinning, because the metal means I can put it in the dishwasher and easily clean it. The negatives: for $70, or even $50, the interior strainer bowl and top should be made of metal. There’s no reason except the company’s cheapness that they’re not. I had a smaller one for quite a few years and it broke. Purchased this one without reading and it is way too big for my family. You need to make sure the basket is level before putting on the lid, it tends to tilt.

This is REALLY well made, I was impressed! The plastic is very strong, and the spin mechanism worked well. However, it's HUGE. I think this would be an amazing salad spinner for a family, but for an individual it was too big and took up too much space on my shelves. I also found that making a single serving of salad for 1 - with light lettuces (like butter lettuce) didn't work as well as when the spinner was half full or more

Don’t be cheap and buy a plastic bowl. Spend extra for the real deal! It’s heavy, just note that. You may not like the extra weight, or it may be tiring for you to wash in the sink, or may slide out of your hands. But no more nasty plastic! I dry the greens and then dress and toss the salad right inside the glass bowl and serve

I ordered this salad spinner to replace A plastic oxo salad spinner that I bought about 12 years ago. The old salad spinner still worked, but the spinning mechanism just wasn’t spinning fast enough to get my lettuce as dry as I like. The only real difference between the new salad spinner and the old one is the metal work bowl, which I really like. The new metalwork bowl feels sturdy without being too heavy
