 so something just to be aware of. Another con I had about this is the compression straps on the top get in the way of the main compartment when you're trying to open it, so you have to undo these if you want to access the full contents of the upper compartment. but it does get in the way a little bit and can be a little bit of annoying. Another con is the hip belt

 This is this stuff it pocket. Another con about it is these side pockets. The elastic is a bit loose. It also doesn't go up high enough to hold a smart water bottle that's one liter and also these uh, compression straps here on the bottom

 Let's look at the dimensions here. The dimensions are 18.9 inches in height and then 10.83 inches in width and also 10

 So if you're looking for something with that, I would actually recommend look at these Stratos 24 if you're looking for something in similar size. So what did you think of the Osprey Hike Light 26. Osprey Hikelite 26 Backpack Gear Review: Is This The Most Comfortable Daypack?

This pack is far better for everyday/trail than Ospreys other everyday do everything packs. It has pole attachments, H20 access, hip belt I can attach a pocket too later. The frame is more suitable to everyday, it isn't huge like the Paladin. It can be easily carried day in day out

 You can fit a small laptop in the hydration sleeve, but you would need to be careful as the sleeve does concave to meet the needs of the frame. Osprey has the best suspensions in the world, i don't know why they have to nickel and dime people with inexpensive materials and no pockets. It really gets old. I don't know if I will keep this bag becuase of the lack of the stretch mesh material on the large front pocket

I was so disappointed when the zipper on my hikelite went out. I've had it for less than a year and I have to replace it now. Compared to other packs I have had in the past, this is the lightest I've been on one. I loved this backpack and the 4-8 week turn around time for repairs is just too much :( I've always been a fan of osprey and always thought they were pretty quality

TL:DR, this is a great (perfect?) bag if you have specifically the right sized back for it to go on (which I don't and neither does my partner). Based on it's design alone, this is the perfect bag for me. Things I love about it: 1. Minimalist, well-shaped, compartments and a shove-it compartment, without unnecessary organizers that add bulk and weight

 Unfortunately it only comes in one size, and that size WAY too small for me. I'm 5'11" and athletic-ish, broad shouldered/chested. The back length of this bag is just way too short for me. So I tried giving it to my partner to see if it would fit her

 Now I feel bad. I feel like I'm bagging on the hike like 26, just a little too much. It's a great pack, just didn't work for my needs. But because I'm feeling guilty, let me tell you about a few other nice little features

 The fact that it can hold a three liter hydration bladder actually relates to one of my dislikes as well, but we'll get to that in a second. The fifth thing I'll mention that I like about it is that it does have an outside stuff pocket, so right here you can see and you can even make it bigger by boosting these straps. It's got a stuff pocket right there, not as big as I would like more on that later, but it does have a nice stash pocket where you can shove some extra layers, maybe strap some things to these straps right here and cinch it up. And while the back panel isn't fully adjustable like some other Osprey models, you are able to make some adjustments on this one while you wear it

 26 makes a big difference in the comfort and the way that it carries on your back. For the next thing, we'll look at the bottom where there's this integrated rain cover. I really like this about the Osprey Hike Light 26. You just unzip that bottom pocket and you've got a rain cover that's attached to your pack at all times, so you're never caught without your rain cover, even when the weather changes unexpectedly

 I'll put a link to that up here. You may take less than me so this pack might work great. I will tell you that my 12 year old daughter is very excited that this will probably be her day hike pack going forward. It's a great pack

 Looking at the straps, you'll notice that they're all really breathable yet still sturdy. There's a pack strap at the top, which is standard with most Osprey and outdoors packs. However, on the chest strap, you'll notice that it's an adjustable slide, which is a really cool feature. Also, on the buckle, there's a whistle if you're in an emergency situation and you need to signal someone

 We have Ospreys airspeed technology which is just a regular trampoline style back. However, the curb sides make it a whole lot more comfortable. These shoulder straps also have kind of a mesh foam combination and the foam has perforated holes in it for more breathability. We also have these right here for your water reservoir

 This pack is great for hiking and just as a general outdoor day pack. so let's take a closer look taking a look at the outside of the pack. We have two pockets and a large exterior pouch. These pockets are great for holding your water bottle or anything else like that

 My other Osprey packs on another two of them. These just snap right back and the material feels heavier. That's my first complaint and this is only a 32 ounce in the Sierras When I go hiking I Like to bring the taller ones the 48 ounces and those aren't tall enough to hit the other compression straps, so this is just a nightmare trying to even carry them. OSPREY HIKELITE 26 PACK REVIEW - ITS NOT PERFECT

I just received this pack and wanted to really like it. It is lightweight and has some nice features for a day hike. Unfortunately for a long hike in the summer putting a 3 L bladder and a lunch and light jacket it is not comfortable. By that I mean it has no hip belt and the straps when it’s heavy right on your sides and scrape them when I tried it

 Certainly not good for longer hikes for me anyway. The lack of the Wider hip pocket is your’s to unacceptable for comfort on the trail with any weight. The Talon 22 is a much more viable pack than this one with my parameters.

 Also agree that it should have a mesh stuff it pocket . I think it be excellent for light weight hikes where you do not carry much weight or supplies . Certainly not good for longer hikes for me anyway. The lack of the Wider hip pocket is your’s to unacceptable for comfort on the trail with any weight

I don't usually write reviews, but it looks like this daypack is suffering from a lack of them! 

Over all, mighty pleased with this pack as a flexible commuter option that easily works for day hikes. If it wears out quickly, this review will be adjusted.

I've been using this for a couple of months now, mainly on my daily commute to work by bike or train. Plenty of room for lunch, a thermos, water bottle, spare set of clothes for the gym, and climbing shoes/chalk bag. I like that the mesh pockets on the sides aren't strictly tight for the use of water bottles; tossing a carabiner on my water bottle keeps it from falling out and the other pocket has enough space to jam a chalk bag in.

 I like that this pack can handle excess weight such as when you have excess food or water in the pack. If I got another pack I would definitely choose one that offers a similar feature.

**Overview**: This is long term review of the Zpacks Arc Blast. I got this pack as a Christmas gift in 2018. I've used it for hundreds of miles and at least a dozen trips. I was not involved in the customer service or ordering of the pack other than I asked for it for Christmas and was under the tree in time for Christmas

The pack has proven itself to be durable under bad bushwhacking conditions. I have scraped it pretty badly on trees and brush and only the outer polyester layer of fabric has [punctured or torn]([URL REMOVED] The inner layer of DCF is unscathed. Under general scratchy scraping through brush there is no damage whatsoever.

- ZPacks Arc Blast - Sort of unbeatable for the frame comfort at the weight. Genuinely waterproof. Pricey. I don't own one, but I've tried it on for half a day to feel it out

 In case you want to hear what "waterproof" really means; I'll tell you, it's this, not something that requires a rainfly - I've taken this pack through its paces on really demanding long trips, including one that required ~50 river crossings in about 3 days and I've left it outside my bivy overnight in drenching rainstorms. Never had wet gear. I think it holds weight well and undersells the interior space because you can extend the roll-top.

 Pricey. I don't own one, but I've tried it on for half a day to feel it out. Reminds me a bit of the airflow on my Exos frame. The DCF is thin, but if you're not putting serious thru-hiking miles on it, you probably won't have durability issues

I'm looking to replace my Teton 3400 pack with something more lightweight and/or comfortable. Right now I'm between the Mariposa 60 Backpack, 40-60L Sierra Designs Flux Capacitor, or Osprey Atmos 50 or 60 but I'm open for other considerations. Max capacity around 60L and max weight of 5 pounds (ideally around 3 pound mark). I'm looking for something with decent exterior pockets including hip pockets and easy access pockets/mounts for bear spray. I've been trying to minimize gear weight to make the weight of my camera gear more manageable but if a pack can make a load more comfortable then that would be okay too. This pack would be for multi-day trips through significant elevation changes. Water resistance out of the box would be favorable too. I'm also slightly below the average male height in the US for size considerations. If you have any experience with these packs or have another you'd recommend that would be great.
