 I Got a pillow in there. There is a little compression strap here - you can latch there, tighten everything down. Simple pull cord to tighten everything back up. You have this part right here which connects the mesh part of the pack, the little outer mesh pocket here, to the pack itself

 Which means a review of course and what we have today none other than the ever ever popular Osprey EXO's 58 backpack. See this pack on the trail all the time. This has been my go to for approximately the last six months or so. Taking it out all summer long

 There was a little spot in here that you can squeeze stuff in. definitely not intended design but I bought these. these are actually shoulder straps from another company and I slid them in here as extra padding and it helps a little bit but I was still getting be sliding down of the hip belt not as frequently but it was still there. That's just really unfortunate

Osprey Exos 58 Thorough Overview / Review | 6 Months With The Pack

 Awesome! I Realized I Just told you guys how to rock me on trail suite I Guess I've got to find a new way to store my valuables on a mono trail. The brain of the pack removed. You'll probably notice you've got this really cool little flap cover here. Osprey Calls this their flap jacket

 I'm also Canadian I Cut up some pretty banging places and the gorgeous Canadian Rockies So if that sounds interesting, you guys click on the subscribe button over here. But like I alluded to, this is the video that's been three years in the making. You're talking about my long-term thoughts on the Osprey EXO's pack personally. I Went with the 58 liter for my EXO's It does come in two other sizes

 The brain is very simple. You've got zipper on the top here, ample storage. that's most of your 8 liters. but then when you flip the brain over, you've also got this little kind of a see-through mesh pocket with a key clip in here

 So what this back panel here does is this mesh panel here is actually completely separate from the main body of the pack so you can see here like my hand just flaps inside. There's a good four to five inches of space between the mesh panel which sits against my back and the the actual backpack itself. So as you're out there backpacking, you don't actually have the main body of the pack coming in contact with your back and it allows all this room for air flow and ventilation. And for me: I sweat hot when I'm out there hiking and this definitely helps keep me nice and cool

Osprey Exos Review! After 3 years of use.

 The bottom does have this mesh see-through pocket and inside that mesh pocket you do have a nice little key holder here to store anything that you would like to get quick access to as well on the back of the brain top lid. You do have another bigger pocket here where you can store a lot more things as well. Now the top lid is detachable really easily by just taking off these clips and in so doing. You do have a flat jacket cover that is inside here so you can see if you do want to go without the top lid

 So very spacious as well for that inside the pack you do have your water bladder pocket here where you can go ahead and put in your water bladder and then you do have this little lock cord where you can tie it down so it doesn't fall through into that pocket you also have once you have your load all in here. you do have this little cinch cord where you can go ahead and compress your load down so it's not all rattling around as you're walking. Again, you do have this little compression strap cord that you can go ahead and close your pack once it's all said and done and I like to just stuff this drawstring right on in there after I'm done, followed by the flap jacket cover. Looking a little bit more at the front you can see you do have this nice large front mesh pocket

 Now the mesh at the top is very cushiony and ventilated as well and as we saw it does get thinner as well. Now the shoulder straps are also sewn into the pack and so you cannot really adjust it like you can other packs where you can go up or down depending on your torso size. So they are sewn in so make sure you are able to find an exact fit for you whether it's small, medium, or large because you will not have and much versatility as far as movement for that to get perfect adjustment. So if it doesn't fit it's not going to work

 This is actually my favorite suspension system when it comes to the Osprey suspensions. Like I said, it allows for excellent ventilation and airflow to keep you nice and cool when you're working hard to hike. It does a great job of also spreading the weight. Now if you notice the ventilation continues all the way down into the hip belt area

Osprey Exos 58 Backpack: Gear Review

 I have just got a rain jacket in there right now, but you could stow any items: wet clothes gear things that you want to keep on the outside of the pack that you might want to have even faster access to. On the sides. We have got two stretchy water bottle, pockets or gear pockets, so I have just got a water bottle in this pocket. Here, a nice stretchy pocket

. You have got a nice Ergopull hip belt down on the hip belt, with a few features down there and you know: load lifter straps as a general backpack would have.. So you have got a really nice back panel in play on the Osprey Exos 58

, So you can put the bottle in at the top kind of traditionally or you can stuff it in from the side, and you have got kind of a you know. Angled water bottle pock-et to make it a little bit easier to access that, while you are on the go., So nice feature with the pocket there. And again on this other side, I have just got some trekking poles and I am using the lash straps or the Compression straps that are included with the bag to kind of keep everything nice and simple

Ultra light, but fully featured the Osprey Exos 58 is a great option for those super light backpackers or through hikers, who need lightweight but really want a fully featured pack. Weighing between two pounds. Eight ounces and two pounds: 12 ounces—depending on the size—this is a great option for those ounce. Counters

 A shame that a pack that is made for rough and tumble hiking can't event take a bit of travel through urban areas.

 Multiple wear areas developed around the pack and frame edges. Yesterday I washed the backpack by hand with a light, non-abrasive soap and one of the tightening straps completely broke in two (must have weakened over time) I did no outdoor hiking with the pack. It only served to get me from city to city and had relatively light use. The most extreme use it went through were trips in the airport and a few times I checked it in and being on the ground while I waited on Ubers

With a measured weight of 21.3 ounces, it's a great deal lighter than most in our fleet. Made from Dyneema Composite Fabric &#40;DFC&#41;, it's incredibly durable, though the fabric is a bit stiff and crunchy. Beware of sharp metal edges &#40;bear canisters or climbing gear&#41;, since they can easily be worn through the fabric. A relatively recent update includes changes to the straps, pockets, and waist belt. The pack has also seen a carrying capacity increase from 52 to 55 liters. 
The Arc Blast is a slimmed-down ultralight machine with no bells or whistles. The frame is super light and a bit complicated; we do not recommend removing it unless you want to spend a great deal of time reassembling the pack. A bear canister only fits into this slender pack vertically, making it a little less-than-efficient to pack. We recommend this pack to any experienced ultralighter looking to strip a few ounces off their Big Four base weight.

 I like that this pack can handle excess weight such as when you have excess food or water in the pack. If I got another pack I would definitely choose one that offers a similar feature.

**Overview**: This is long term review of the Zpacks Arc Blast. I got this pack as a Christmas gift in 2018. I've used it for hundreds of miles and at least a dozen trips. I was not involved in the customer service or ordering of the pack other than I asked for it for Christmas and was under the tree in time for Christmas

The pack has proven itself to be durable under bad bushwhacking conditions. I have scraped it pretty badly on trees and brush and only the outer polyester layer of fabric has [punctured or torn]([URL REMOVED] The inner layer of DCF is unscathed. Under general scratchy scraping through brush there is no damage whatsoever.

- ZPacks Arc Blast - Sort of unbeatable for the frame comfort at the weight. Genuinely waterproof. Pricey. I don't own one, but I've tried it on for half a day to feel it out

 In case you want to hear what "waterproof" really means; I'll tell you, it's this, not something that requires a rainfly - I've taken this pack through its paces on really demanding long trips, including one that required ~50 river crossings in about 3 days and I've left it outside my bivy overnight in drenching rainstorms. Never had wet gear. I think it holds weight well and undersells the interior space because you can extend the roll-top.

 Pricey. I don't own one, but I've tried it on for half a day to feel it out. Reminds me a bit of the airflow on my Exos frame. The DCF is thin, but if you're not putting serious thru-hiking miles on it, you probably won't have durability issues

I'm looking to replace my Teton 3400 pack with something more lightweight and/or comfortable. Right now I'm between the Mariposa 60 Backpack, 40-60L Sierra Designs Flux Capacitor, or Osprey Atmos 50 or 60 but I'm open for other considerations. Max capacity around 60L and max weight of 5 pounds (ideally around 3 pound mark). I'm looking for something with decent exterior pockets including hip pockets and easy access pockets/mounts for bear spray. I've been trying to minimize gear weight to make the weight of my camera gear more manageable but if a pack can make a load more comfortable then that would be okay too. This pack would be for multi-day trips through significant elevation changes. Water resistance out of the box would be favorable too. I'm also slightly below the average male height in the US for size considerations. If you have any experience with these packs or have another you'd recommend that would be great.
