I am so greatly satisfied with this purchase! I use this pack for so much: hiking, travel (as my flight carry-on bag), weekend trips which require several outfit changes, but do not warrant traditional luggage bags. I sometimes use for school, on my long days where I need to pack extra snacks, or school-related materials. The laptop sleeve is great for using at school/air travel, as it offers protection and I like the ease of storing and retrieving it. There is plenty of space for my laptop, textbooks, chargers, food containers

-I find the cross straps also annoying, they feel in the way when you're trying to pack things and hurry quickly and I largely use them to secure the water bottle since it falls out due to the instability of this pack but its very annoying to need to clip each time when you're just trying to access the main compartment for your jacket when the stash pocket on front doesn't fit a jacket in the first place

It's also means have to keep more things in the main compartment, all jumbled together. But, if my deal-breakers aren't important to you, it may be a great bag. The straps are well-designed, and the laptop pocket is padded. I've been carrying my laptop in an older Osprey bag which has a very similar pocket without padding (probably not originally designed for a laptop) and I do really like that bag

Pros: - Very lightweight. I appreciate that. - It's got a nice padded laptop section. That's crucial for anyone bouncing and jostling around

I wasn't going to use this bag as a daypack. Instead, I just wanted something that was comfortable to carry things from one place to the other. I am SO glad that I went head and purchased this anyways. This bag is the most comfortable backpack I have ever used and the pockets are amazing

It's been a great city commuter for him. All in all it's a great backpack, my only negative thoughts were for the price I was expecting the canvas material to be a bit thicker, But it's been holding up well for the time he's had it. Something to note if your flying, going through TSA it can slow you down a little due to the draw string for the main compartment of the backpack. But that's only if you have a laptop or tablet
