 What I really wanted was the ability to stream my "line-in" sources over the network, particularly the phono input when I'm playing vinyl. Onkyo says they can't do that but why is a bit of a mystery since other models seem to have no problem. Oh, the streaming can also be used if you happen to own some of those over-priced wireless speakers.  Overall it's a pretty nice receiver but it left me disappointed by lacking the one new feature I really wanted

This is my first networked receiver and as receivers go it seems to be excellent. No quibbles with sound quality, but takes some getting used to the app and a somewhat limited conventional remote.  The firmware can be updated over the network which is nice, but other than that the network capabilities seem to be restricted to streaming internet services like Pandora. Not really necessary since it also features Airplay and Bluetooth - my phone can handle that

 Moving our focus to the back of the 676 let's take a look and see what we've got. So there's six HDMI inputs on the back all are assignable to any of the label buttons on the front except the networking and the Bluetooth. So all of the HDMI inputs adhere to the HDCP 2.2 protocols and they will also accept up to 4K video signals

 There's also support for Dolby Vision and High Dynamic Range which is commonly known as HDR. Now there's two HDMI outputs, the main out supports audio return channel and in the menu settings you can actually select the option for Dolby Vision to actually be on the main output or the sub output. There's three assignable digital inputs on the back along with an AM FM tuner and we've also given you a host of legacy analog inputs, two components, two composites and six analog and there's even a separate phono input for your turntable. Now the 676 is rated at 165 watts per channel across seven channels and in the information bar I've put a couple of configurations so for example a 5
