Comfort

northface hydra 38
Supremely Comfortable
Carry comfort is the primary criterion for judging any pack. And the Hydra 38 carries beautifully. It sits high and tight on my back. Load-lifter straps are extraneous on most daypacks, because the short pack frames prevent them from actually working. In this regard, the Hydra is unusual, perhaps un...

Hiking

Great product, large capacity, easy to use.
I use the pack for single and multi day trips. I have used it for several single day hikes, and will use it to hike Kilimanjaro in Tanzania

Osprey Arcane XL
Help with bag choice
Osprey Arcane XL (30L) ($120): I would axe this based on size alone. You say you want this as your everyday bag, and as a second bag in addition to a luggage when traveling, so I believe 30L is overkill.

Osprey Arcane XL
Sharing my silly bag problem with my fellow addicts. I gathered up all of my various bags and pouches, and it made me realize how ridiculous things have gotten. Might be time to downsize my collection. Sharing a few of my favorites and will add a full list in the comments.
The comfiest backpack I've ever had. If I'm doing a serious dayhike, this is the bag I'm taking.
