 Split boarding gear in general is costly, it's specialized, the bindings, if you want to get more serious about it you know the boots so you have to buy additional stuff already so we wanted to make sure there's a board out there that kind of you know limits that cost effect a little bit. The Nomad is that board it is very affordable but has all the key features of course it comes with the same split boarding hardware that we put on all the boards comes with our forged hooks and our you know clips and everything like all other split boards it comes with the mounting holes for our fitted skins that we'll talk about in a minute has power pots for hiking and for riding down safely again even this is a kind of a normal all mountain board we wanted to make sure that you have control on your edge especially when you hit more difficult zones not everything is powder that can be other areas so we wanted to make sure this board also has enough edge grip and has enough turning control so we added power ports, power pots to this board. Nitro - Nomad Splitboard

 The Nomad has a directional splitboard shape so it's got a longer nose and tail giving you more float in the pow. The Nomad has a flat out rocker which means the board is flat underfoot making it very versatile and forgiving and also early lifting the nose and tail to make it easier to split up. You're not going to catch your contact point as much and you're also going to get more float in the powder. It has a mid-wide width which makes it nice for splitboarding because you get more surface area underfoot so you get more float and it also makes it easier on the way up

 Super friendly and forgiving and really nice for the walk up because you're going to get a nice grip at the center of the side cut. It has our power core which is a tip-to-tail poplar wood core, super lightweight and very snappy. It uses our premium FH extruded base which is this beautiful base right here. Extruded bases are nice on splitboards because when you're splitboarding you're going to hit some stuff and you're going to get some gouges in your base so you want a base that's easy to maintain and repair and that's what this base is

 You're going to get more edge hold. It has an all-terrain flex, our radial side cut which is a side cut that is one long radius from contact point to contact point, one long radius. Super friendly and forgiving and really nice for the walk up because you're going to get a nice grip at the center of the side cut.  It's a little softer than our doppelganger. It has a directional splitboard shape obviously. It's a mid-wide. It has our all-terrain flex which is great in any terrain, stiff enough to go fast as hell and soft enough to be playful

 One of the coolest features on our splitboards is we use our T7075 aluminum hooks which are raised a little bit and they're raised because then you do not get the holes from the inserts on the base so you get a nice clean base and it will not wear.  So just by using a little bit of rubber up here, they're quieting the ski down quite a bit. Let's take a look at shape before we dive into performance of this ski. These kind of black-op skis, these black-op skis are kind of a departure from the previous freeride skis from Rossignol in the sense that they don't use nearly as much early taper. So skis like the Sky and Soul7, they had that drastic early taper cut in the tip and in the tail

 But I think the vast majority of skiers won't reach that limit, and it's still pretty good ski when you're just cruising groomers and making carbon turns. The other side of the spectrum is they're a lot of fun to take off trail, very, very versatile ski. Here on the East Coast, it's a blast to take into the trees. You know, there's enough tail rocker back there that you don't feel locked into a turn

 I think a really good application for that would be somebody putting like a Duke PT or a Shift on here, using it as kind of a hybrid inbounds resort ski and backcountry touring ski. Probably even maybe the best application for that as a touring ski would be here on the East Coast. A Western skier might want to go with something a little wider. Maybe you're going to an Alpineer, maybe you're going all the way to a Sender, get a little bit more width underfoot

 And with the lighter swing weight, they're pretty easy to maneuver and kind of flick around in the bumps and trees. Of course, being in the free touring line, Rossignol is kind of making a suggestion that you could put an Alpine touring binding on them. I think a really good application for that would be somebody putting like a Duke PT or a Shift on here, using it as kind of a hybrid inbounds resort ski and backcountry touring ski.
