I would pay $50 max since this thing is prone to stick drift and its essentially inevitable. Conclusion: Don't get this controller unless you are a die-hard fan of Nintendo. Opt for the 8BitDo Pro 2 or even better the Gullikit King Kong 2 Pro which can wake your switch up from sleep and it promises no stick drift. Or, you can wait for the 8BitDo Ultimate to release at the same price point (it also comes with a charging dock)

Be EXTRA fucking careful with it, get a good pulley system and make sure the cable has enough slack to reduce stress on the cable, don't tilt the headstrap up to avoid bending the part of the cable that connects to the headset, don't click too much on the joysticks to avoid chances of developing joystick drift, in fact don't use the joysticks at all and switch to the pathetically small touchpad, don't drop the controller even 1 foot off the ground or your trigger will pop off, I could go on.

If however, you intend to get games like Splatoon, Fortnite, Mario Kart, fast paced games like that, or if you have large hands that would make the JoyCons miserable, then you are gonna need this controller or a strong cheap alternative.

just my impressions so far, had the index for a couple of days, almost a week. I play elite dangerous, Microsoft flight simulator, Pavlov VR, Boneworks, Half-Life: Alyx, and a bunch of others. Also, I lost motivation to keep writing so it sounds like I put less and less effort into each paragraph as well as being less and less formal. One last thing, I *do not* want to proofread this so if there are mistakes ignore them it's 3:30 am right now

I gave my testing a whirl on Zelda: Breath of the Wild and was able to at for 4 straight hours without any hand cramping or having to charge the battery.

I also got the wireless card at a ridiculous price, which brought my VP2 total to around $690. It's OK. Performance has been hit and miss for me so far. I should note that the wireless adapter requires a free PCI-E slot

Surprisingly this had joycon analog stick drift right out of the box. It took several calibrations and powering my switch on and off several times before it started working consistently. I bought this because my existing joycons were drifting and I thought "Well, the PRO controller won't do that, right?" Yeah, no. Nintendo's build quality is still a bit suspect

Aperture Hand Labs demonstrates the controllers' effectiveness by walking you through waving, hand shakes, fist bumps, and manipulating objects. Every interaction felt natural, and the controllers offered gentle vibrations to indicate when I touched a robotic hand or other object. Vibration adds to the immersive, finger-detection effect by letting you know when you’re directly interacting with something in- game. It can’t replace feeling something with your fingertips, but it’s a good start

I bought this to upgrade from my generic knock off Switch controller and I'm disappointed. This one is too touchy. It feels good. It's nice and hefty but when I try to use it the controls are too touchy

I bought a pro controller in May of 2020, and the R button is having issues that I haven't been able to fix. With my issues with my pro controller and all the issues I've heard about joycons, I'm hesitant to buy another Nintendo brand controller. In an unwise decision to try to save money, I tried 2 different really cheap (essentially no brand) switch controllers, but one just felt way too cheap and one doesn't stay connected. So no luck there

2. Again, no experience with the Pro 1, but I came from an Index. The resolution was indeed an upgrade but everything else wasn't really that much. Index had better audio, mic, and sweet spot

*What I didn't like*: I was going to say something about the cost of this controller, But after a quick search of XBox and Playstation controllers, I see that it is directly in line with the competition. So it’s a little high, but so are all the other options. *The Bottom Line:* This is, without exception, the most comfortable way to play games on the Switch. It may be on the spendier side, but the comfort, battery life, and ease of use make it a no-brainer for people who spend a lot of time with their Switch docked
