I would pay $50 max since this thing is prone to stick drift and its essentially inevitable. Conclusion: Don't get this controller unless you are a die-hard fan of Nintendo. Opt for the 8BitDo Pro 2 or even better the Gullikit King Kong 2 Pro which can wake your switch up from sleep and it promises no stick drift. Or, you can wait for the 8BitDo Ultimate to release at the same price point (it also comes with a charging dock)

If however, you intend to get games like Splatoon, Fortnite, Mario Kart, fast paced games like that, or if you have large hands that would make the JoyCons miserable, then you are gonna need this controller or a strong cheap alternative.

I bought this controller after my gen 1 Xbox Elite Controller started getting unacceptable left stick drift and had broken LB twice. I wanted the gen 2 Elite, but I decided to give this a shot. My main game is Rocket League, so this isn't from the perspective of a shooter main. I've only had it about a month so I can't speak to it's durability, but I will update the review if something becomes a problem

Surprisingly this had joycon analog stick drift right out of the box. It took several calibrations and powering my switch on and off several times before it started working consistently. I bought this because my existing joycons were drifting and I thought "Well, the PRO controller won't do that, right?" Yeah, no. Nintendo's build quality is still a bit suspect

Customization on Windows is also much less robust than with the Astro C40 or Xbox Elite Series 2 gamepads. You can program the six buttons on the back with any input, or set any of them to Focus (reduce sensitivity on either analog stick) or Agile (increase sensitivity on either analog stick), but you can't reprogram the standard face buttons or triggers.

I bought a pro controller in May of 2020, and the R button is having issues that I haven't been able to fix. With my issues with my pro controller and all the issues I've heard about joycons, I'm hesitant to buy another Nintendo brand controller. In an unwise decision to try to save money, I tried 2 different really cheap (essentially no brand) switch controllers, but one just felt way too cheap and one doesn't stay connected. So no luck there

Maybe it was just my controller and other buyers aren't experiencing this but I wanted to put it on the review in case others are seeing this issue.

*What I didn't like*: I was going to say something about the cost of this controller, But after a quick search of XBox and Playstation controllers, I see that it is directly in line with the competition. So it’s a little high, but so are all the other options. *The Bottom Line:* This is, without exception, the most comfortable way to play games on the Switch. For other non Shooter games the controller works splendid. I mainly use the two extra buttons on top (M1, M2) for my gameplay, and out of the 4 buttons on the back I only use 1. I actually like the location of those buttons because since I don't use them, I don't feel they are on the way, I have big hands but never touch them unless I want to reach for them.
