I’m about to try the New Balance Two WXY. I got an amazing deal. Bought 3 pairs for $150 in the NB store. They are known for being very durable outdoor shoe to ball in! Can’t beat that deal!

I’m looking into buying some shoes that I would strictly use for outdoor courts.  I have a normal sized foot/width and wouldn’t be playing more than twice a week.

I have only purchased indoor shoes back in the high school &amp; aau days and almost always got Nikes.

Any suggestions would help

Outdoor Shoe Recommendations

New Balance Two Wxy. Highly underrated shoe. I’m 6’2 and weigh 215, so I understand the need for impact support and ankle support.

What’s the best hoop shoe I can get performance wise for 150$ or less that can support a bigger guy? For reference, I’m around 195lbs and muscular but only about 5’7”. Looking for impact absorption and ankle support mainly. Bonus points if they’re also stylish!

Nike LeBron 18 Performance Review!

The Lebron 18’s, for instance, which have one of the highest cushioning setups and no outrigger  don’t make for the most stable ride when playing basketball. In comparison, Kobe’s are lower to the ground and provide a wider base promoting more stability.

I know this guy has been pretty fragile since day 1, but lately all his injuries are ankle and achilles related. This made me think about his footwear choices and I noticed he always wear's low top kobes. Now before you start, I am one of the biggest proponents for low-tops and I believe the science for the most part. Furthermore, the most important parts of preventing ankle injuries as far as footwear is heel lockdown and stability which the Kobe's are both 9/10 if not 10/10 in those areas.

BUUUUT, these studies, and these statements are applied to the general public not a 6'11" elite athlete. This dude is so big and explosive, I just don't think his shoes are supporting him enough out there. There's a reason why LeBron's are always built like tanks, he's a big guy and has the size and strength combination of the top 0.00001% of the population. What do you guys think ? Maybe it's not necessarily the shoe being low but just not supportive enough in general? Any shoes you guys think would actually help him?

Thoughts on AD's shoes possibly contributing to injury ?

I have a couple more but saving those for indoor courts, I did try balling in those shoes but those have translucent outsoles and idk if it’s worth even mentioning. Honestly of the three that I have been wearing, lebrons hold up the best, and lebron 18s IMO has better traction and comfort.

Need a pair of OUTDOOR basketball shoes

 Asian brands and releases seem to have harder, thicker and more durable outsoles, Anta KT series is a great example (KT3 sole was indestructible) and I noticed that the EP releases I've bought (Lebron 18 and 19) are noticeably sturdier than their US counterparts. If you buy something with soft rubber, it might feel nice at first but it won't last at all, and the shallower patterns pick up more dust and wear down faster.

4) You already bought this pair but in the future look for a shoe with a thick rubber compound and a deep-set pattern. Herringbone is the most reliable, radial patterns are often pretty good and the sort of "thumb print" ones we see on the Anta KT series, Kobe 9, etc are also pretty good. How do I maintain the grip on new basketball shoes?

 The KD 12 was great, and I’d expect the KD 14 to perform similarly. Otherwise, good cushion can be found in the Lebron 18 lows, the Puma Clyde All-Pros, The Nike Zoom BB NXT, the Nike GT Cut, the Jordan 35, the Nike Cosmic Unity, The Curry 8 and the PG 5.

6’3 forward who plays on outside courts. Wide feet. Used lebron 15s before and their fit was insane. After that i used some kyries 5. Liked the traction, but felt like they missed a bit of cushioning. Rn i need a ball shoe, was thinking of freak 2. Thoughts?

Thoughts on freak 2?

Lebron 16-18, Nike Zoom BB Nxt (bit unstable for ankles tho), Zoom Rize, GT Cut, GT Run, KD12-14, Anta KT4, Peak Taichi Flash 1 or 2, adidas Marquee Boost, and Tmac Millenium (defintely go down half a size for the last 3). The Nikes generally you need to go up a half size up as a wide footer. Nikes tend to be narrow, but the others all fit wide.



Hey peeps, discovered the sub today whilst doing some research on my next pair of basketball shoes and thought I'd ask the question from the pros. I'll try and put in as much info as I can.

 - PG/SG at 5'7", probably a little heavier than I should be so decent cushioning a must 
- 39 years old, been playing since I was 6, so knees are a fairly brittle (once again cushioning) 
- I have decently wide feet, so need shoes that are roomy (tried Kyrie 1's back in the day and they hurt my feet) 
- I've become a lot slower as I've gotten older, so very light and responsive would be ideal 
- My game is mainly outside these days as a shooter/passer, but need the ankle support for when I do go low (my ankles are like rubber, but rather not be at extra risk of a roll/sprain so decent stability without being chunky) 
- Shoes will only be used for indoor use 

My previous shoes have been: 
- Kobe IX which I'm currently gone back to 
- Harden Vol. 2, have been great, but some times the width crushes my foot so have stopped wearing these due to the pain (probably needed a half size up) 
- La Ning Way of Wade 2, incredibly comfy and quality is one of the highest I've seen, but just too chunky for me (prob the last time I buy shoes without trying them on first, lesson learnt) 
- Under Armour Curry Clutchfit Drive, right up there with the most comfiest I've worn, but have worn these right down so the grip on the soles are toast (unusual as I usually go for low cut shoes, however the high ankle support didn't effect my movement at all and were super stable). 

So yeah, any recommendations would be great, some I've looked at recently on my short list are D Rose 11, Dame 7, Air Zoom GT Cut (worried these might be too slim for my foot), Jordan 35's. Thanks in advance for the suggestions!
