 And if you guys need help finding the right snowboard for you, feel free to click the link in the description and reach out to me or one of the other experts on Curated. Never Summer rates this an 8 out of 10 on their flex scale and it was very comfortable at pretty much any speed I was able to take it at today, regardless of condition or uneven terrain. It felt very damp. There are inserts between the bindings that create a little bit of stiffness, but once you really begin to press into them, especially at higher speeds, it creates a nice locked in feeling that really puts triple camber in the category of free ride

 I ride a NS Swift Split for deep pow days and it slays and floats like a dream. Sometimes the uphill is meh but once you master the uphill technique it’s just fine.

 Alright let's start off talking about the flex, I'd say it's definitely going to be on the stiffer side of medium getting quite stiff and the personality is going to be more on the aggressive side of the spectrum, it's a very powerful snowboard, the feel kind of reminds me of the Proto Ultra but in a directional shape. This is going to be a very energetic snowboard as well, pretty much any tension you're able to load up in this board it's going to give right back, it's going to offer a lot of pop, it's going to have a very snappy feel to it and when it comes to butters and flat ground type tricks you are going to be working against that stiffer flex and the additives in this snowboard to get any kind of presses going so it's going to be more challenging to find those balance points and it does have a very precise feel to it so I'd be paying close attention to your edges for that kind of stuff to make sure you're not catching up and generally it's not going to be the most butter friendly just because of how aggressive and how precise this board is. This is going to be a very energetic snowboard as well, pretty much any tension you're able to load up in this board it's going to give right back, it's going to offer a lot of pop, it's going to have a very snappy feel to it and when it comes to butters and flat ground type tricks you are going to be working against that stiffer flex and the additives in this snowboard to get any kind of presses going so it's going to be more challenging to find those balance points and it does have a very precise feel to it so I'd be paying close attention to your edges for that kind of stuff to make sure you're not catching up and generally it's not going to be the most butter friendly just because of how aggressive and how precise this board is. I also want to talk about the carving experience on the Proto FR and there's two specs I want to highlight, first is the waist width so at a 160 you're going to get a 25

 There's also multiple dampening technologies built into this snowboard to help smooth out the ride and iron out any chatter or vibrations you might get as well as a sintered base which is known to be a higher end base material that's harder, faster and more durable compared to an extruded base but you do want to make sure to wax it regularly to maintain a nice fast glide out there. And that's going to be it for a quick tech breakdown, let's get into how this board feels out on snow.  The Volta is a mid-wide board with an all-terrain flex, it's a medium of a flex, it has a radial side cut, so it has a nice friendly side cut, easy to engage, start, and follow through with turns. It has our flat-out rocker, which means the board is flat from contact point to contact point with early rise in the nose and tail, so you're going to get a very forgiving ride but you're going to get the response when you need it, but even more so you're going to get the float when you want it and pow when you're split boarding. The Volta has our power pods, which are sweet for split boards because it helps you on the hike up, hold an edge, but more importantly it helps you in icy conditions on your ride down. Say you go up somewhere, you get to the top and you realize that it's all icy and you're scared of sliding, with the power pods it's going to hold an edge better than a normal edge, so you're going to be good on that and that helps you on the hike up like I said

 The Volta has our power pods, which are sweet for split boards because it helps you on the hike up, hold an edge, but more importantly it helps you in icy conditions on your ride down. Say you go up somewhere, you get to the top and you realize that it's all icy and you're scared of sliding, with the power pods it's going to hold an edge better than a normal edge, so you're going to be good on that and that helps you on the hike up like I said. The core is a power core, which is a lightweight tip-to-tail poplar wood core, so that's great for reducing the overall weight of the board. It has our premium extruded FH base, which is a nice base, super durable and holds wax really well

 They also can be replaced or they can be upgraded if you want to with a flat head screwdriver, so it's super easy to customize the board and they come with our pre-drilled bole compatible insert patterns. Any split board binding on the market, you can pretty much put on this. I'd recommend the Volta, it's a 151 centimeter to any girl who's looking for an affordable split board to get her in the game, to check out split boarding with her friends or her boyfriend or just for herself, and you just want to try it, I'd recommend going for this board because it's affordable, it has all the technology you need and it's very durable and it has a very long life, so you're going to have it for years. So do yourself a favor, check it out online or go into a store near you and check out the new 2018 Nitro Volta women's split board
