Mystery Ranch Urban Assault 21L vs Osprey Atmos AG 65

The most comfortable pack is typically the one with nothing in it. 😊 Under load though, from my collection it'd be the Mystery Ranch Urban Assault 24.

You'll be more comfortable and all your stuff will remain dry. The plus side is that this was a very comfortable pack to wear when dry and my shoulders never became too sore over the course of the day. It was easy to control comfort by alternately tightening and loosening the waist belt so that the hips take more or less of the load.

Keep in mind this is a small/simple backpack, I would not recommend for any kind of serious outdooring. Great for a quick load up to head out for a trip though.

Used bag one trip! Loved it packed for second trip the following weekend and the outside zipper popped off! Osprey says online 10-12 weeks hoping when I come back from this weekend trip it will be less then that! Will redo this review after dealing with Customer service

when loaded down, no matter the amount, I couldn't get the bag to be comfortable. I am a broad shouldered gentleman, and I had consistent shoulder pain after carrying the bag for half an hour every time no matter what I had loaded. I messed with the load lifters and all other straps and couldn't get it to work for me at all. I may try the 24 to see if it works better, as the bag seems a little taller and wider, but as of now I can't give a full recommendation for the 21

Highly recommenced! Get them before they are gone, Osprey has discontinued this model for some unknown/Stupid reason. Why you discontinue your best product is beyond me. Bring it back, and with more color/custom options! Id buy three just on principle.

Got this in the eggplant colour for lugging my laptop, running shoes, gym gear and toiletries from home to office to gym and home 5 times a week. I wear this with my professional clothes (I’m a solicitor) and low-heeled pumps. (I value function over fashion when “on duty”.) I only keep “duffel” style backpacks so that I can get to bottom of the pack without taking everything out

My dad went the opposite direction - he started out with an "ultralight" pack (Osprey Exos 38 IIRC) and eventually went with an Atmos 65. He just carried too much stuff for an ultralight pack. He didn't care much for high daily mileage, the walking part of backpacking is a necessary evil in his mind to get to the backcountry camps for fishing and generally relaxing. Trying to stuff all of his junk into a smaller pack with limited support wasn't much fun, so he got a bigger pack and he enjoys backpacking much more
