Bought this in 2020 when I started a grad program and wanted a new bag since my old one was so beat up. This has held up great, the materials and construction are super solid. The internal laptop pocket is perfect and I also really like the smaller velcro pocket for keeping noteboooks. Bag does not have chest strap but it is incredibly comfortable to wear if the pack is filled. Back of the bag is also not designed with breathable mesh but since it has built in plastic panel, if you wear the bag right, you will have incredible space between your back and the back of the bag for breath-ability.

I love using my borealis backpack for both work and my weekend hikes. The section for my laptop is great and it's also comforting knowing that it's protected with the padding inside. The straps are great and comfortable when I take it out for a hike and carries just about all you'll need for a good long hike trip. Would definitely recommend it for its range of features
