I think it makes more sense for a bigger pack. And I'm not so sure about the very reduced size of the front pocket. Can't really handle a wet jacket. But man

Enough room to carry the gear I need, comfortable enough to wear when fully loaded down.

Bought it last month took it on first hike. It fit well just wished had more internal pockets and the zippers get hung up. Little small in the main body barely holds two T-shirt and a rain jacket plus food. Just need a little more time with it

I needed something with more pockets than my shoulder pack. I take this bag to do wetland surveys and bush wack through thick dogwood. The material is very durable. I am back and forth on whether I would like a slightly bigger pack maybe 30L but it seems to carry everything I need

I've been hiking and backpacking for quite a while and have the packs to show for it. For me, the Coulee is the most comfortable and durable day pack I've ever owned. I've only had mine for about a year but I've beat it up since day one and have never felt the need to be gentle with the zippers or material. It's the difference between the 330D of the Coulee and the roughly 100D of something like the Osprey Talon

Bag does not have chest strap but it is incredibly comfortable to wear if the pack is filled. Back of the bag is also not designed with breathable mesh but since it has built in plastic panel, if you wear the bag right, you will have incredible space between your back and the back of the bag for breath-ability.

When I first opened the package I thought the bag was very small (this was before I opened up and loosened all the straps). It has all the compartments I would actually use and fits all my work needs. I usually pack a water bottle/thermos, a pair of running shoes, gym pants and shirt, my charger, and a notebook and pen. When traveling as a carryon it fit two pairs of shoes, my hygiene kit, all my electronic accessories, and I still had plenty of room

I liked all of the MR bags, high quality and comfortable fit. Foe the Coulee 25, I found packing the Coulee or Scree with a laptop very difficult. Things wouldn’t fit nicely and there is no way to protect your laptop from the soft edges (the frame sheet is too narrow). So, it has to be in a case, which made packing the rest of the bag cumbersome

Bought this in 2020 when I started a grad program and wanted a new bag since my old one was so beat up. This has held up great, the materials and construction are super solid. The internal laptop pocket is perfect and I also really like the smaller velcro pocket for keeping noteboooks. I really like the minimalist design overall and the internal water bottle sleeve is actually better than I would have thought

Hi, looking for a larger bag to help me with my commute. Currently use a Timbuk2 Q and while its nice, its not large enough and kind of hard to access things when its loaded.

I couldn't be happier with this purchase than I am. You just know when you buy a quality product and this is one of those times. For what I am using this for (long commute by public transportation) it is perfect. I can fit everything I need including various layers for changing weather conditions

The shoulder straps and hip belt are way overbuilt for a 25L pack. Smaller Mystery Ranch packs at REI have smaller shoulder straps which would be preferable on this pack (this is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). Other reviewers have noticed this as well. The wide shoulder straps are fine from a comfort standpoint but just don't feel right on the pack

It has this meshing material to help prevent moisture from building up. The width of the straps is also really nice, considering the size of the bag. ...

The bag sheds water pretty well we got caught in a few rain showers and the water never soaked into the bag and just beaded up and ran off. My only complaint, and the reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars, is that there isn’t any internal storage options or even an option to add internal storage. I wish that it had either some zippered pockets on the inside that stored out of the way when not in use or some internal molle or some kind of attachment points on the back and sides so that you could add pouches if you wanted to. I had a med kick and another pouch with batteries and a few other items in it and it would have been nice to mount those up higher in the bag to easily find when needed

This pack is about 20 liters in capacity, so it'll hold all the day's essentials for a hike, throw your reservoir in the back sleeve and stow your ext...

pros: Tri-zip is very convenient. Pack has been tested in pretty heavy, although brief, rain and hail, keeping contents dry. Very rugged, thrown it around without issue or thought it will rip. Outside pockets and removable hip belt have proven convenient

This is close. Big zippers (the teeth are big) so zipping is easy. Internal bottle holder is nice to keep it organized. Not a fan of a laptop sleeve, don't think you really need one
