I like the flavor of the coffee when brewed in this French press better than on  the percolator. It comes out a bit less bitter. However, since this needs to be warmed up prior to use, therefore, one has to boil water, pour it in the French press, wait a few minutes, pour out the water, and then start making the coffee, it takes more time and it is more involved than brewing in other coffee makers. Overall it is a good purchase

Best French Press of 2022

Size isn't everything. Case in point, the Veken French Press carved out a place for itself as a miniaturized version of a classic press design. Specifically, the Veken is a 12-ounce, single-serving unit comprised of a glass carafe cradled in a stainless steel frame with a lid/plunger assembly to match. The unit is dishwasher safe, includes a pair of extra filter screens, and is quite affordable. 
Admittedly, we were drawn to the Veken as it appeals to our minimalist instincts and ritualized daily coffee quaffing. However, this model's filtration isn't as complete as we have observed in other presses in the group. It produces a somewhat gritty brew, especially if you overload it with grounds or rush the plunger. The metal frame also provides gaps where residue can build up, so it will likely need to be removed from time to time for a thorough cleaning. That said, if you're a one-cup-a-day kind of java drinker, this unit is worth a gander.

 I've tried many different coffees over the years. this by far I've never had coffee like this where you just it has so much flavor, you do not need creamer or sugar in it and you can see there's no, you know, white specks inside. I don't know what they're doing. Maybe painting all the little sugar flakes and creamer flakes to where they automatically

Long term review of the Veken french press coffee maker

After breaking yet another glass coffeemaker carafe I decided to go full time to a french press. Of course, the one I already owned was glass, so I decided to upgrade to a metal press. I wanted one that would hold the heat because my biggest issue with french presses in general is that after the first pour, subsequent cups have cooled down too much.  After much shopping, I decided on this one which, by the way, cost the same as replacing the carafe for my fancy drip coffeemaker

 Then I went home and made my coffee. Gave it the full 12 minutes. Oh goodness me, bliss! I don't know if I will always be able to afford custom-ground premium coffee, but I will get it whenever I can, properly ground for the french press. Went from a darn good cup of coffee to a great cup of coffee

 I'm pretty frugal and cramped for space so the idea of investing in yet another appliance, a coffee grinder, was not appealing. But a couple of days ago I went to one of our local roasters, bought a bag of Ugandan Bugishu (I like African coffees but this one was new to me) and had them do a proper medium-coarse grind for me. Then I went home and made my coffee. Gave it the full 12 minutes

 I want to say it was a hair under thirty dollars and this thing for the three pack I think was like 13 or so. It was pretty good size and this thing was about 19. Arrived pretty quickly but once again you get all these components, works really well and I'm happy with it. Been using it for several weeks now and gone through a can and a half of these and happy with it

 I should check. the ingredients does not contain Hawaiian grown coffee. I don't know, don't know, don't care. Actually tastes really good so I am happy with it
