 Inside the switch itself, Kailh is using a click bar design which is different to how Cherry MX achieves the classic clicking, but we'll get to how good it is a little later in the review. So speaking of the software what you're going to be using is Dragon Center and for the keyboard it has two main menus the first of which is Mystic Light and most of you will probably know that this is MSI's RGB ecosystem and so if we had more MSI RGB products they would also be listed here but we've just got the one so it's the keyboard only and it's a fairly intuitive menu nice and easy to change the effects and you've got three profiles to play with. Now on profile two we've got it set to the customize one and we can apply it and this is just essentially the per key RGB lighting that I was telling you about you can pick your colors choose which keys are then going to be applied in that color and then apply it and it's as simple as that it's a nice static pattern and then you've also got for your third profile for example you've also got multiple other ones to play with Whirlpool is quite an interesting one if that's your thing it's super RGB but yep it's it's super easy to change everything the software works well and it's fast on the lighting changing. The second section of the software is separate to Mystic Light and it comes under gaming gear which we'll show you here and so from there you can select your keyboard and then you then get a separate menu specifically to program macros into the keyboard so separate from the lighting

And along with that, MSI has also sent in the WR-01 wrist rest, which retails separately for £20 and we'll be taking a look at both today. So the Vigor GK50 Elite comes in two flavours and that gives you an option of which switch you want beneath your keycaps. Now both of them are a clicky type, but you get the GK50 Elite Blue and then there's the Elite Box White Edition

 I thought this was a nice gesture and maybe nothing more than a bit of a gimmick when I first saw them but honestly I do really like the feel of the convex keys much more than the concave keys that come with the keyboard. It really made a difference especially when gaming and it really was more comfortable and easier to press these buttons under pressure. The keys are also really clicky and pretty satisfying to use. They aren't annoyingly loud though like some of the other keyboards I've used or that my partner uses and dries me up the wall with

 Underneath all the packaging we have a keycap puller and the manual. I'm instantly impressed with how this keyboard looks, straight out of the box, the brushed metal top plate is nice to look at and it makes the whole thing feel tough and premium. The MSI Dragon logo also adds a touch of cool to this whole thing as well as the matching key which is essentially a function key. The keys are almost like a satin feel, the website says matt coated keycaps but I would say that they are definitely not matt, they're way too shiny for that in my opinion

 The keys themselves are low profile Kailh mechanical switches and they are really responsive. I guess this is due to the fact that there is less distance between the switch and the operating point making that response time a little bit quicker. The switches feel quite firm in comparison to some of the others I've used before and I found myself feeling the need to type maybe a little bit harder than usual but I quickly did get used to this and to be honest I did quite like it. You get extra control and alt keys with this keyboard and they are convex unlike the standard keys that come attached to the keyboard which are concave

 So I went to the website, downloaded the software and launched it. After a bit of fiddling around with installing the MSI SDK, we were good to go. On the first screen you will see, oddly, that you can control your display which I found a bit odd but hey why not. On the next page is Mystic Lighting which houses all of your lovely lighting options

MSI VIGOR GK50 Keyboard Review - Low-Profile Contender!

 Pros, metal plate is really nice, nice bright RGB, no grease prone keys and that is a big bonus from me, good tactile and audioball feedback, full range of media keys, control and alt convex keys, full range of media keys, software is pretty cool too, linking to games and stuff like that as well as the phillips hue and good performance in gaming. Some cons, kink friendly cord, slightly heavier resistance when pressing the buttons but soon got used to that. Nothing really stands out spec wise, visually or comfort wise other than the RGB and the freebies that you get with it. This is the definition of my conclusion, nothing to complain about but equally nothing to rave about

There isn't much here we haven't seen before to be honest, there are keyboards that are very similar for maybe even a little bit less that I would more than likely go for on that basis. I would say that the best features include the metal plate, the RGB, the software and the freebie keys

MSI Vigor GK50 Elite - basic and forgettable

 In Singapore you can get one for about 130-140 dollars which is fine for a mechanical keyboard like this. Overall the MSI GK50 Elite is an amazing mechanical keyboard with great features and build quality. If you are looking for a gaming keyboard I would recommend the GK50 Elite. Prices may change in the future so I will leave some links in the description to buy it

 The font on the keycaps are also unique and they are easy to read. Next the USB cable on the keyboard is also braided and is very high quality. Next we have RGB. The Vigor GK50 Elite has perky RGB which is amazing

 The one I have here is the clicky Kailh Blue switches and as the name suggests these are clicky switches and I quite like the way they sound when typing. Here is how these switches sound. It will be fine if you like the sound these make but will be quite loud in quiet environments. Moving on, the keys have a medium actuation force of about 60 grams and can be pressed relatively easily

If you don't need a Numpad, the best TenKeyLess budget mechanical keyboard we've tested is the Redragon K552 KUMARA RGB. This TKL board has a small desk footprint, leaving you with more space for notebooks or mouse movements. Surprisingly, it has full RGB backlighting that's customizable, which is fairly uncommon for cheap mechanical keyboards.

This keyboard only comes with clicky Outemu Blue switches, which provide a satisfying audible click. Also, the typing experience overall is decent, as the keys feel stable, and the keycaps feel nice to the touch. It also has a Windows lock feature, so you won't accidentally minimize games or media by pressing the Windows key.

Unfortunately, the click of the switches doesn't align with the actuation point, which could be a bit odd if you rely on the click to know when a key's been registered. The switches are heavy to press, meaning you might experience fatigue during long stretches of use. Also, its latency is pretty high, so it's not a good choice for playing fast-paced FPS games. With that said, it's a good choice if you're looking for a starter mechanical keyboard with a smaller form factor.

For an inexpensive keyboard with mechanical switches, check out the Redragon K552 Mechanical. This gaming keyboard is tenkeyless and uses Outemu Blue Key mechanical switches. These switches are far superior to rubber dome switches. Although, they can be less consistent between keys compared to some switches. The keys on this board are backlit and come with 19 lighting presets. Eight of these presets group keys by color for gaming-specific organization. You can also customize which keys stay illuminated, and save these settings to two different profiles. It also has a 12-key rollover. 
The K552 does not have any software to support it, though. It also doesn't have any standalone macro keys, media keys, USB passthrough ports, nor does it have a palm rest. This mechanical gaming device balances size, performance, and price. If you're looking for a mechanical keyboard that won't break the bank, check this model out.

 F1 through F12 are your media controls if thats what you're looking for. Overall, I recommend this board by far if you want something clicky, tactile, and loud. If you want a similar feel but quieter, take a look at Browns and other switches. Oh and it does not bend, quality is top notch for the price, and I'm not saying that as if you should expect a compromise in quality, this is a fine product and worth every dollar

 Lighting level is adjustable as well. So far, for the price, I'm beyond satisfied. I mentioned this in another review, but you can not go wrong with Redragon if you want to avoid paying double, sometimes triple the cost for a good key board. One tier adjustable height with legs, built in cord board side, but there's screws so I assume you could detach the cable from the board if you so choose

 The RBG choices are plentiful and beautiful, from solid colors to rainbow, and even changing direction, you can't go wrong if you like colors. The key caps themselves light up, as well as a boarder around the keys. Lighting level is adjustable as well. So far, for the price, I'm beyond satisfied

Great budget mechanical keyboard.

 The Kamara features a metal and ABS construction. The keyboard feels weighty and robust with a metal top plate and plastic bottom piece. I really like the compact frame of the Kamara. There is no wasted space and it has a very sleek look

 The Redragon K552 Kamara is one of the best selling keyboards on Amazon. It's a TKL board that comes with clicky blue switches, but you can also get it with the red switches. I've always been impressed with the Redragon's bang for buck peripherals, and the Kamara is another excellent budget board. At this price range, I'm always worried about flimsy build quality, but that is definitely not the case here

 There does seem to be software for the Kamora, but after a long struggle with compatibility modes and the keyboard not being detected, I gave up on installing it. Definitely something Redragon needs to work on. It shouldn't be such an arduous process trying to install software. The Kamora is currently going for around $40, which is an absolute steal

Redragon K552 Kumara Review - YouTube

 &#x200B;. Super budget compared to most of this sub but it's my first mech board and way ahead of anything else I've used in the past.

A Redragon K552 with some chinese pbt keycaps (same colour as the OP's photo actually, but side printed) and the original outemu red switches swapped for green/teal (the board has the outemu hot swap sockets and I bought a tester pack and liked green best). I don't know if you can really call that "custom" but it is "customized" at least. &#x200B;. Super budget compared to most of this sub but it's my first mech board and way ahead of anything else I've used in the past
