The blade is dull so get yourself a good sharpening stone to hone the blade. For the price, it's a good knife but the sheath is still very important.

. yes. I would recommend convexing your blade and go as far to put it on a grinder to thin the profile of the knife down if you want it so be a good skinner/slicer, because it isn't

Now the knife. I bought this for self defense, if ever needed it'll do the job intended. It doesn't come very sharp and in my opinion doesn't sharpen very well. Handle feels nice in the hand for intended purpose

I take care of my knives but I ordered the stainless steel model for its ease of care, ease of sharpening, its overall shape and its size and it having a less brittle blade as its carbon counter-parts. Here's a hint..

Had this Knife almost (1) year. Have not used it for any outdoor/ bush/ camping activities yet so can't rate on that. Just been sitting in my Diving Backpack and considering to use it in my Diving activities but don't know if the steel will hold up (won't rust). At 1st glance, the knife feels like it's a Young Boy's knife (still feel that way)

The handle is lovely and ergonomic, with a non slip coating. The blade is just the right size for most outdoor activity and does not look threatening, especially in day glo orange! The sheath is functional and has no trace of pretension to it!!! The knife surprisingly was not razor sharp..

(I have large hands) The rubberized handle is very grippy, and a joy to work with. At 30 bucks its a true bargain ! SOG ! if youre listening, please take this exact design and enlarge it to a 5 and a half or 6 inch blade, with the handle expanded to 5 or 5 and a half inches

I know the sheath comes in for some criticism, but it fits the blade nicely, seems tough enough not to get cut through if you fall with the knife on you, and fits tight enough that the blade doesn't fall out, so I have no issues with the sheath. The handle is very comfortable. I have a large hand, in fact I have two of them, and the handle of the Companion is broad enough and thick enough for me to hold it happily. Actually, I can recommend this to people with arthritis because the handle is so rounded and easy to hold

I love the sheath. The retention is perfect. The knife stays firmly in place and it's quick and easy to deploy. Doesn't feel stuck like some Schrades do with similar sheaths
