The Gransfors Small Splitting Axe can be used for medium-sized firewood. It is forged and ground to a concave, quite thin blade at the bit.  I like a knife like this, because I don't need something crazy, heavy and tactical and super duty that I can pound through.  The handle seems very strong, tightly grained hickory with excellent orientation.  I find working with it to be pure joy. I'll grant that it is expensive, but in this case I think you get what you pay for. I would buy it again in a heartbeat

Great Little Axe

 I use this ax nearly every single day. It’s an ideal size for having near a wood stove or furnace. I have mine in a small corridor next to my wood stove that’s used to hold wood pre-burn. The ceiling is low (about 6’4”) due to ductwork

 If you’re looking for something that you can handle and will occasionally split small amounts of timber you’ll want this. Worth every penny.

I contacted both Kenco and Gransfors in order to remedy this situation but have not heard from them in over 9 days. This is truly unfortunate because, though my experience with Gransfors has been positive thus far, I'm left wondering if this was a vendor issue or if it was manufactured incorrectly. Regardless, the premium price that Gransfors Bruk charges for their axes leaves one hoping that a quality issue such as this would not be overlooked

I was very disappointed when this knife arrived, I had always heard good things about Not a knives, but this one wasn't very sharp when it arrived and the tip of the blade was messed up. I suppose for the price it was fine but it didn't come in in great shape. I have since sharpened the knife and ground the tip, it tooke an edge well. I like the shape of the blade and I think it will make a good utility/camp knife I just don't think out of the box it is deserving of the praise moras get

The Morakniv is an excellent knife, quality made, and will last a long time. The design is such the handle grips perfectly and the blade feels like an extension of the hand. As a tradesman I have seen these around for years and never paid them much attention because they don't look as cool as other knives. Then I got one and it has become my main knife that I always reach for

 Spine of the blade is unfinished, but easy to finish square with a file and diamond sharpener. Blade, handle, sheath all good, and you can't beat the price. l'll call this one medium duty. Not for batoning, but should be reasonably durable for everyday outdoor use
