WE DID NOT EXPECT THIS! MIZUNO JPX921 IRONS TESTED

 That had a little bit more of a crack to the noise when I hit the iron but felt just as good as the Tour. That feels really nice. Yeah very good. Feel wise, very similar to the Tour

 Last one to test is this, the Hot Metal. I think these two, Hot Metal Pro and Hot Metal, are going to be super popular. This is the biggest head, the chunkiest sole. Again for a 79 this is 29 degrees of loft

 Okay first hole I'm going to play is this Par 3 11th hole Marriott Worsley Park. It's 165 yards. Now these lofts are very true lofted and what I mean by that the seven iron is 34 degrees so I'm not expecting these clubs to go a million miles not in this lineup anyway to get a little bit stronger in those other irons I mentioned before. So I'm just going to hit a little seven here

 A lot of people on the internet get very excited about new Mizuno irons. Well today I've got four brand new sets to test and we've taken out on the golf course a new 921 range of Mizuno irons. So there are four new sets of irons from Mizuno. These are the JPX 921 lineup

 Let's give the Hot Metal a hit. I've never hit this iron yet so you're going to get my initial thoughts. That was such a good flight. There's an instant difference in feel compared to these two sets, the Tour and the Forged

 Let's now go outside in the outdoor teaching bay. Let's go see how they look behind a golf ball, and more importantly, how they feel. Cremoli this year, not 1025V with a bit of boron, so it'll be interesting to see how they feel. Let's go outside there, then we'll come back in here, do some proper premium golf ball testing to see how these now fall with a Cremoli forge in rather than 1025V

 So it's very much so built around the player and what they require from the club. Yeah. So descent angle was 48.7

 So they have advancements in the materials that they're making these days and putting into these clubs that help when the face gets really thin to increase ball speed and stability of the face. Yeah, it translates to a club being 35% stronger and 8% thinner, which means? Fast ball speeds off the face without sacrificing sound and feel. These clubs feel great, look great. You know, when the face gets really thin, it's kind of making it more wood-like

 Higher launch, faster ball speed, a steeper descent angle and higher peak height coming off of the new model, which means, you know, more greens hit and help. Three different models to choose from in the hot metal lineup. Yeah, so I think, you know, of this lineup here, one that's a new introduction to the line here is the HL. HL is a higher launching, a little thicker sole on the bottom of this one, really gets this thing up in the air, but still going to go nice and far

 You know, forged just brings into a bit of a different feel. You know, again, just, you know, you got to hit them. You got to try them out, speak with your master club fitter at a golf town store and we'll get you dialed in for the season. It's hot metal

The JPX 923 Hot Metal Irons are the fastest-flying, fast-stopping new irons from Mizuno. They are 35% stronger and 8% thinner, resulting in fast ball speeds off the face without sacrificing sounds and feel.

 And it wasn't the fastest clubhead speed either. 92.2 is the slower side of what I was testing. So a portion of the lower carry distance of six yards that I'm losing is because I'm swinging slightly slower

 Now, out of all of them, this one for me, for you guys, is the most exciting of them all. When it comes to the Hot Metal, Hot Metal Pro, yes, they are tech-driven, distance-based rockets where it comes to this one. So Mizuno, this little wonder here, the Swing DNA tool, obviously with a head on the end, but the Swing DNA tool, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of thousands of swings that have been recorded on this little tool here, which doesn't just give bend profile of how the shaft bends, how you load the shaft and all that lot to get your custom-fit shaft. It's also measuring head speed and all that lot

 Now, one of the many things that they worked out over the passage of time is that actually there's quite a few golfers that swing 70 miles an hour and even slower. So with the constant push for cranking of lofts, for strengthening of everything to try and get distance, distance, distance, there does come a point, and it comes quite early, when we're talking about golfers with reduced swing speeds, that just cranking lofts does not work. It doesn't work, it only makes things worse. They don't have the speed with that slightly lower launch angle to keep it going in the air

 Now, okay, I'm swinging at 90 miles an hour, still got a bit of warming up to do, but I am, 90.2, I am swinging much faster than the normal golfer that this is designed for, necessarily, you're talking about the sub and in the mid to early 70s, where because of the amount of loft this has got, this is gonna have all the tech that you've got in here, bear in mind, this has got the same 360 cup face in it, same kind of technology, all the technology that the 921 Hot Metal and Hot Metal Pro has, but with more loft. And this, by far, I would definitely go into something, now, if I've got the 5-iron next to go, but I tell you what, I could definitely use one of these. I mean, apart from the fact that it's, we'll go into that in a sec, we'll just hit this one

Mizuno JPX923 Hot Metal HIGH LAUNCH Review, will this golf club and its design change Custom Fitting and Club choice for especially the slower swinger from this day onwards? With the continued push from every golf manufacturer for creating more and more distance at the expense of Peak Heights and control into the Green, Mizuno have developed the High Launch with the slower swinger in mind. Built with every bit of help the the Hot Metal provides but with additional loft to get the ball carrying further with a higher flight.
