Received a product that did not match description. Called customer service. Apparently the bag used to come with yellow straps and it is still marketed as such, but the actual product has no yellow straps.

 Pros: well thought out pack, like the sunglasses fleece lined pocket for valuables, pack feels very light on your back. Cons: different strap color from the one pictured (green with yellow& gray straps, i got green with all gray straps), but that’s really my only reason for not giving it the 5 stars it deserves. It’s a really nice pack that’s a perfect mix of style and functionality.

Comfortable option for any day trip

I bought this to carry my daily items I need at work as I park 3 blocks away from my office.  Initially, I was concerned this pack would fit me kind of short because I am 6&#039;4&quot;.  But I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived and it fits me quite well.  I really enjoy the front flap pocket it allows me to pack my note pads (standard letter size pads) and it is easily accessible without having to rummage through the main zipper pocket

 I have taken it for a day hike a few times and it worked well. I go light on it though, as it is my school bag. And on that note, this pack doesn't have any support-structure besides the semi-stiff back pad to keep your devices from nestling into your back. Keep this in mind if you tend to pack your bags with very heavy items, as my back begins to hurt after loading it with six library books and a small laptop

 I didn't have trouble packing it with food, water, and clothes for a day hike though, as that is where this bag performs best.  TL;DR: With a lot of weight it strains your back, packing moderately or for a day hike is just right.

 Other than that it is a great pack, made well and very, very comfortable. I don't carry much; a laptop, iPad, a couple paper notebooks, but this sits nicely with the soft padding. The laptop pouch is hung (sewn) to the back pad, with about an inch or two between it and the bottom of the bag, thus you can put this down *a little* rough and your electronics will be fine.  TL;DR: Needs a few more organization pouches to make it into a school bag, but works well as a day hike/urban pack; great quality, comfortable, looks great

Awesome, but it's more of a hiking pack than it sells itself.

It’s comfortable, just the right amount of organization, excellent water bottle pocket. However, there’s one dealbreaker issue: when I pack the bag relatively empty, with just a laptop (Thinkpad X1 Carbon) and a charger, the laptop bounces all over the place when walking. No such problem on any other packs I’ve ever tried. For anyone else who EDCs an Osprey Arcane, have you had this issue?

* **Good back support / comfy shoulder straps** : I already struggle with back problems scoliosis and when I travel or hike, I tend to walk a lot. So my number one priority for this bag pack is comfort and support.

This compartment’s actual inside holds around 20L of gear, meaning you have a fair amount of room for your everyday essentials. Even if you stuff it to the brim, the bag won’t look overly bulky on your back—it keeps a nice, slim profile instead. 

As always, we’re glad that YKK zippers are making an appearance on this pack. They have a similar look to the other hardware around the bag (which we’ll talk about next) and have been zipping and unzipping each pocket and compartment with ease. Bonus: the zipper pulls are super satisfying to fidget with, and look just like pencil erasers (although they don’t function as such). 

We were skeptical of this at first but found that when we used this as a laptop bag, this opening was really convenient—the positioning of the zippers makes it easy to reach inside and grab our tech out without having to fumble around to find them. 

All told, we’ve enjoyed testing the Arcane Large Day Pack (V2) these last two weeks. It’s simple in its design, but its organization and comfortable harness system perform incredibly well for everyday commuting. Not to mention, you’re picking up this pack for a reasonable price (around 100 bucks) from a respected brand.

Organization-wise, you have a sleeve against the back wall that can carry up to a 15″ laptop inside, with or without a protective case. It’s suspended pretty high up from the bottom of the compartment and has a decent level of padding that will help cushion your laptop from accidental drops and when it gets shuffled around as you’re walking. Our tech is crucial in our daily work lives, so we’re happy it’s getting the protection it deserves. 

Osprey Arcane Large Day Pack (V2) Review | Pack Hacker

 Although I haven't used it yet on a flight, I think it will be great for travel. Even at my local beer garden, the "security strap" comes in handy to be able to safely attach the pack to a chair or table. For the most part, it strikes a sweet spot between minimalist design and practical/useful features. Quality is on-par with my mountaineering pack from a high-end Canadian brand

 The not so good: Everyone has their tastes with "minimal packs", but to me, the front, vertically-zippered pocket leaves something to be desired. It is roomy and easily swallows a puffy or rain shell, but it seems a bit incomplete. It would be nice to see a little suspended mesh pocket up top by the keyclip to keep the keys from swinging/getting tangled with other items. There is a mini divider/pouch thing near the bottom of the pocket, and again this feels incomplete

great for a simple daypack! The waxed canvas of this bag is quite impressive- very abrasion resistant on the trail/climbing, but looks sharp in town as an everyday commuter. The straps are the nicest and most comfortable of my many Osprey packs (ranging from 11L to 55L). The adjusters for the shoulder straps are metal- a very nice touch. Even fully loaded, it carries comfortably and keeps a low profile

Smart, Sexy, Strong!

 Although it is elastic, it does feel like anything bigger would start to stretch this out in a way where it might deform the compartment or lead to tearing in the future. This fabric is fairly durable feeling and I like that it extends out so it doesn't take up too much volume from the inside of the main compartment, so you shouldn't have any issues if you do pack that area out and then it's nice that because of this elasticity, when you're not using the compartment, it really hugs the bag nicely to maintain a cleaner overall look. Moving into the capacity, the bag comes in at about 30 liters, which is a really versatile size in my opinion. It really has a lot of space with that 28 liters of capacity

 Moving into the capacity, the bag comes in at about 30 liters, which is a really versatile size in my opinion. It really has a lot of space with that 28 liters of capacity. It does tend to stick out quite a bit if you pack it up completely, so it's not going to be maybe as sleek or as minimal as far as footprint as this bag, but it can hold a ton. The extra pocking that it has is very useful
