My problem is this: the underside is THIN and slippery. The original yoloha mat has an amazing nonslip rubber bottom that was solid and great for the practice. The native mat’s bottom is not the same material so it shifts around the floor a bit and slides up or back, and also sometimes bunches up (for instance when I’m going from right side half pigeon to left side), soI have to pull the mat back down to the floor. I thought about returning the mat but my last option would be a liforme or a lululemon and the cork just has such a great feel and smell to it and honestly the grippiness is (usually- not always) great

I personally think that if some other mats weren't so mushy, they'd probably slide around alot more when sweating buckets anyway. In short, there was an initial twinge throwing down the cash for this kind of item (and the towel). However, if I use something on a very regular basis (say, everyday), and bought something shoddy, I hate it every time I see it. But if I buy quality, its like paying all the money I'm going to spend on that area for quite awhile up front-and getting something I'm actually happy with

However, I purchased the mat on June 29th, and already see cracking in the cork, as it is separating from the rubber layer. For a mat that I have used for less than 5 month, this does not demonstrate quality. Before writing this review, I sent an email to the manufacturer on their company website, asking about this issue. It has been 2 weeks, and no response at all

I asked a friend who has one ans she said hers still smells after two years. Back it went. I finally bit the bullet and when high end, trying the Manduka through Amazon. Applying my Amazon credit card points to the purchase cut the cost in half, so that made the thought a bit easier to digest

it changes from usual cheap mats; really non slip! and additionnaly the small smell of cork is pleasant! I just used it 2 times but already love it

I could see this possibly being an issue with Pilates, or hot yoga, but it was not during my 30 minute practice. Here is what Manduka's info sheet says, "Fabric-like Surface Finish for slip resistance, even with light perspiration". I love everything about this company; their mission and the construction of this mat. I just really wanted this to work for my hot yoga classes. I am in warm vinyasa classes in 95-105 degree heat; 40-50% humidity and this is my third mat; trying to avoid slipping when sweating in poses. I thought it did well the first two months; but I find myself really slipping in down dog and wheel; which if you do yoga; are not poses you want to slip in because you can hurt yourself
