Freezer Space

This freezer is really small.

It took a really long time to get the freezer - I think it was actually lost for awhile. It turned out to be smaller and holds a lot less than we expected. It doesn't feel like it seals well when you close it, and you have to be careful to keep stuff away from the door or it will pop open when no one is around. I wish we had kept our older freezer, instead of tossing it when we got this one

Magic chef upright freezer

Arrived 8/3/20 one day late but so far it working fine. Followed instructions with the set up, hoping it last for a while (photos attached)

I brought it back in the house and let it sit unplugged for 24 hours to allow any bubbles in the coolant to dissipate. I then plugged it back in and 24 hours after that opened it to find it frost free except for a slight surface film which was probably due to moisture in the freezer when I closed it back up. Since that time (about 10 days) I've had food back in the freezer and it continues to remain frost free. To sum it up, the freezer does work as it should, when it's put together properly

Capacity

Basically it's a good overflow freezer for my tiny apartment. It arrived with some shipping damage dings but since it was still operational, I kept it and Walmart took some money off rather than have me return it. Happy with it.

Perfect little freezer for my house and my needs

I bought this freezer to handle extra frozen fruit and veg from summer garden overflow and sale purchases, plus living in Northwest Montana and liking to keep extra stock of meat, etc. over winter - this was a great first step for me for additional freezer capacity (small house: 1 human, 1 dog, 1 cat). I have 2 Whynter A/C units that I've been very happy with so stuck to brand. Packaging was very good with a box outside the Whynter box

Price

I don't have any complaints to speak of currently. I'm glad I purchased it and you can't beat the price.

Temperature Settings

Expensive Ice Chest

We purchased this and it won't even freeze one cube of ice over 24 hours. All of the temperature settings have been tried too - yet nothing. Very disappointing!

Easy to Defrost the Smooth Interior - Maintains a Zero degree Temperature.

Maybe the thermostat would control this? The temperature control dial has been set to the maximum, [6]. Also the compressor has rust spots in a few areas, and is hot to the touch. I wonder if Whynter is using a good quality compressor? Update: (about the compressor tends to stay on.) -If the thermostat dial is turned down lower, from the maxium [6], the compressor does not stay on continuously
