The Logitech MX Keys is a great keyboard for those looking for a low profile experience. It has Perfect Touch keys that take some getting used to, but are highly responsive and comfortable once you do. The ability to quickly switch between devices is also a great feature. However, the device support software can be unreliable at times.

Verdict

The Microsoft Number Pad is a great addition to any laptop or desktop setup. It is well-made and has a soft touch feel with minimal travel. The keys are virtually silent and the calculator key is handy. However, it does not have an equal sign for writing formulas in Excel, directional arrows for navigating spreadsheets, or support for ALT codes for special characters.

Ergonomics

Impressive but I narrowly prefer Apple's own keyboard for use with my MacBook Pro

The Apple is just a little bit bette, just a little bit easier to type on. There is a little more resistance with the Logitech. My fingers glide across the keys of the Apple keyboard as I type. With the Logitech, I find myself having to back up because I didn't press down hard enough and therefore missed a character

Love the portability

I love that if I am not using the number pad I cab move it out of my way. Gives me more room on my keyboard shelf. Ergonomically it works for me!

Quality

Not so worthy successor

The very first impression is positive, it has a good overall feel to it. l it looks good (important to me in my home studio where the look is a big thing). It feels solid, no plasticky and the keys seem to be well positioned and ergonomic.

Nice conversion feature, but no = and no arrows

I've had this for 15min so here it goes: Good: size, feel, ease of connection and a great calculator with conversions. Bad: no equal sign to write formulas in excel, which is how most people are going to use it. Also, the most glaring error, which boggles my mind, is that there isn't any directional arrows to move around a spreadsheet. All they would have had to do is add a shift key and mark the 8,2,4,6 with arrows

Design

WARNING for Mechanical keyboard users: MX Keys is annoyingly LOW, otherwise a great keyboard.

It's basically free. - Packaging minimal yet very classy, well done. - Board looks and feels great, has a sort of subdued yet elite appearance, looks great in office or home setting. If you aren't one of those RGB nerds you will love it

Works great. Programming is neat...

This has been a winner so far. Size, shape and weight are good. The buttons feel nice considering it's such a thin gadget. Connection has been solid and range is good (for my work I walk around with it at times

Build Quality

So gamers, if you're looking for function, speed and sturdiness, rather than bling, this keyboard is the bomb.

I would keep this; if I had a PC laptop

So, the looks, feel and quality build is quite superb for this windows number pad and wanted to have some diversity of accessories with a MacBook; the keypad pairs, then I have to skip this whole mumbo jumbo alert saying keyboard won't be accessible to determine the keyboard and to press the left and right shift keys, so I quit but the keypad is still connected.

Layout

What Keyboard Should I Use?

* I am used to low profile keyboards so choc switches would be my preferred choice to reduce the travel distance. * Layout I was aiming for was Lily58 or Sofle but kind of want a stronger column stagger and at least a 3 button thumb cluster.

It's exactly what you would expect.

My only complaint about this, is that it does sit practically flat on the desk. If I could angle it to be similar to my keyboard, I would have given this 5 stars.

Software

I am a software engineer and i type alot and care about my function keys. The function keys bar is very difficult to use because there is no space between button groups (most keyboards have space between F4 and F5 and F8 and F9). The function keys are clearly intended to be used as media keys. This keyboard is not for coders and not for gamers

Great Compliment to the Galaxy Tab S8+ and Clip Studio Paint

This pairs well with Android, especially the Galaxy Tab S8+. I use it specifically for hotkeys in Clip Studio Paint for Android and it works well.

Weight

Worth Every Dollar

PERFECT. If the backlight stayed on then everybody would be complaining that the battery doesn't last long enough. Logitech had this in mind when building this keyboard. Everybody is also complaining about the weight of the keyboard saying its too heavy, it is in fact heavier than the standard desktop keyboard, but that's good, because if its bumped it won't move or if it is placed on a slanted surface then the weight of the keyboard and the rubber feet will prevent the keyboard from sliding off of it's surface

Super portable, fast to connect, joy to use

Best purchase I've made in long time. Turned on, instantly connected to my Surface Pro. Super portable and lightweight for travel and to use with my laptop and desktop. Prefer to use a smaller keyboard without a separate number keypad on desktop
