Logitech G710+ vs Redragon K552

Got really tired of my Logitech G710+ due to how bulky it was. Came into this sub and looked things up.

An optional keycap would be awesome seeing as this product works on both systems, but I'm really not all that tore up about it. It is rather hefty in weight, but that makes the experience all that much better seeing as it really holds the keyboard in place if you have to use it in your lap for whatever reason! This is my first Mechanical keyboard, and I have done extensive research that all led back to this being my best starting point. I'll be re-reviewing this one year out to see if my opinions have at all changed. :) Big thank you to this company for putting this product out there

However, both shift keys and the escape key have broken due to the mounting post in the key cap splitting. This makes the key wobble slightly and then soon after, break off. Logitech has been unhelpful in sending new keycaps. They insist that I must RMA the whole keyboard

A Redragon K552 with some chinese pbt keycaps (same colour as the OP's photo actually, but side printed) and the original outemu red switches swapped for green/teal (the board has the outemu hot swap sockets and I bought a tester pack and liked green best). I don't know if you can really call that "custom" but it is "customized" at least. ​. Super budget compared to most of this sub but it's my first mech board and way ahead of anything else I've used in the past

it's a very thin part, and if you press on the wheel, it can break. Or, even if you use the wheel normally, it can shear off because of the rotational force- the torque- so, torsional shear fracture. I'm going to see if I can maybe glue this little hexagonal rod back to the big volume wheel, and try to use it. I'll update this review if I can fix it

F1 through F12 are your media controls if thats what you're looking for. Overall, I recommend this board by far if you want something clicky, tactile, and loud. If you want a similar feel but quieter, take a look at Browns and other switches. Oh and it does not bend, quality is top notch for the price, and I'm not saying that as if you should expect a compromise in quality, this is a fine product and worth every dollar

It's also nice that the WASD keys can be adjusted separately. 4) I have 3 different macro profiles and I can record each macro via a macro record button without having to use the software (even though it's great). This would be handy if you are using some unexpected keystrokes a lot and want to program them into a macro real quick, rather than open the software (also great for a quick excel macro rather than programming it into VBA or recording it via excel). So I give this 4 out of 5, not because it isn't good; I definitely like it waaaay more than I don't

There does seem to be software for the Kamora, but after a long struggle with compatibility modes and the keyboard not being detected, I gave up on in...

Do I think it's worth the $100 price? Nah. Honestly, I have not found it superior to even Comfort Curve 3000 which is a fifth of the price, and for the next keyboard I buy, if I had to choose between those two, I'd prefer the Comfort Curve to this even if they were the same price. If you just need a new keyboard, get at least a Comfort Curve, or look for something better. If you're really dying for a mechanical keyboard, IMO keep looking

Not as quiet as silent reds obviously, but you want inexpensive. Most membrane keyboards don't even mention if they support any kind of rollover.

As others have mentioned, the secondary characters on the keys don't really light up and some of the keys seem to be brighter than others, regardless of the brightness setting. I did not originally want a backlit keyboard, so poor backlighting does not affect the functionality of the keyboard for me, but I thought it was worth mentioning for others who are specifically looking for backlit keys. The only real annoyance the backlighting creates for me is the OCD part of me that can't stand things that are not uniform, but appear to have been intended to be uniform. At a very minimum, the poor backlighting makes the keyboard look a little cheap--which is not good for a product that carries a $150 price tag

The keycaps aren't the worst but they block a lot of the RGB light which getting new keycaps will reveal to you. All the colors are nice on the RGB EXCEPT white, which is almost lavender with the stock keycaps. And probably the worst thing about this keyboard is that it does not have a working driver to customize it's RGB in a program. It just hasn't been fixed by Red Dragon at all

The net effect on my chassis USB ports is neutral. But the more I think about this, and as I am writing this review, I believe I will be sending this KB back to Amazon. I'll go back to the old DECK board until I can find a Cherry Brown KB with media keys, proper placement of the symbols, more even illumination and a better, more legible key font. For the price of this board, and despite its MOST excellent feel, it just doesn't make the grade

Solid build quality and very customizable. Pretty much everything except for the PCB can be replaced. Blue switches are very clicky, though the larger buttons can feel a little mushy at times. That is perfectly acceptable though, I don't expect high quality stabilizers at this price point

Let me be clear here on this most important part, this thing is silky smooth in regards to key action, I love the feel of this keyboard. The back lighting on this keyboard while being only cold white is very bright, I actually keep it running a setting or two below brightest and it is still plenty bright. Nice to know the extra brightness is there should I need it. I also like that I can control the WASD and arrow keys brightness separably, I did not think much of this feature on paper but in practice I find it moderately useful in FPS games

If you do not like using wrist rests for your keyboards, then the ergonomics should be fine.
