 Next ski I got to ride was the Line Pandora in a 104 underfoot and a 172 centimeter. Out of all the powder skis we tested the Line Pandora's were my favorite by far. I felt like they'd be really fun on the hard conditions as well as the powder. You could ski the top of the chute, soft fun powder and as you came to the bottom of the resort and it's gotten broken up and it's turned into bumps and ice, you didn't have to make any compromises

 Maybe you're thinking of park skiing, maybe you're thinking of twin tips. This is designed more for directional freeride performance. So, longer tip rocker than tail rocker. The tip rocker starts about where my hand is

 I think a lot of women would really, really like skiing this ski in that avenue. And then with the camber underfoot, with the wood core, and that carbon fiber, you get nice edge grip and nice responsiveness. It's kind of like a partial vertical sidewall in this ski, so you're going to get good torsional stiffness underfoot. Sure, it's not the most powerful ski out there by any means, but when you start putting metal and those additives in a ski, they don't retain this nice, lightweight feel

 We get an Aspen light wood core in this ski, and we get carbon fiber stringers too. So, very light, very snappy, very energetic, and very, very responsive too. In fact, holding it in my hand, it is reminding me how light this ski is. It's quite impressive, this being a 172 that's 104 underfoot

The Nordica Santa Ana 98 is the type of ski you could buy, throw in the rooftop box, and not have to worry about having enough space for the rest of your stuff. Instead of having to pack a ski for groomers and a ski for powder days, the Nordica provides you with an all-in-one option. The Santa Ana 98 performed particularly well in the crud, staying stiff enough to punch through anything the mountain threw at it. It also floats well in powder, feels stable at high speeds, can carve a mean arc, and pivots easily around a mogul field.
While we appreciated the reliability of this ski, we didn't experience any wow-factor and didn't feel a lot of rebound or responsiveness under our feet. That said, it took us everywhere we wanted to go at the resort and handled every snow condition, so there's something to be said for dependability. If you don't need something to excite you and want a single ski that can do everything well, the Santa Ana 98 is your match made in heaven.

NORDICA SANTA ANA 98 | 2021 SKI TEST

 Rather than a high speed tool for strong skiers, this feels more suited to being an everyday ski for intermediates, but at a price point most skiers would be happy with. And that trickle-down graphic from the more freeride-focussed models does make for genuine good looks and rack appeal.

 I had the older, heavier, double-titanal-layer version of the Santa Ana 110 in a 177 cm and hadn’t really skied them before taking them out on vacation.
