6'0 270lbs here. Volkl M6 Mantra 184 is what I ski, and before that I was on an older pair of Matra's. This is what you want, or something similarly stiff like a Nordica Enforcer etc.

Stable underfoot but still soft tip and tail to allow forgiveness if you don’t land perfectly.

Buy the Volcomantra M6 if you want a slightly wider, hard-charging, powerful feeling ski that maximizes frontside performance.

So it's going to feel really comfortable across all different snowpacks. Again, great option for that advanced level skier.

Last year’s Line Chronic and Blend are going for $300ish online, which isn’t awful. But I’m not going to recommend someone whose most recent ski experience was on hard-charging race skis pick up a “playful” full-wood/carbon ski unless they’ve demoed how they ride first.
