 Do you know anything about them? Yeah man, I know a couple things they're adding gas pedal metal to this. This is a kind of construction bar from the Line Blade and it's like a partial metal sheet with cutouts. You get some nice stability, nice kind of dampness out of that metal, but it also kind of characterizes a lot of line skis. Still pretty fun, pretty playful, and has some good pop to it

 It's a little wider so slower edge to edge, you know, but nice big platform for popping over rollers. Also took them into the bumps. They're a little wide for them, yeah, but nice and springy to get you from bump to bump and the softer tip you could really kind of crush through and hop up and over them. Yeah, I've been on a lot of line skis

For 2022-2023, Line took their futuristic metal design, as seen in the Blade, and adapted it to a lineup of all-mountain and freeride skis: Blade Optic. By fusing “gas pedal metal” with a playful shape, taper, and deep rocker lines, Line aimed to introduce a ski uniquely suited for both playful skiing and hard charging. 

Jonny and Mikey were big fans of the Blade Optic 96 and 104 at our 2022 ski test.

Currently I ride Volkl mantra m5 as my daily driver. Looking for a directional ski I can rely on in firm conditions but also has low swing weight in the trees. I’m thinking ~105mm underfoot. Looking at the Fischer Ranger 102 (last year and this year) in addition to Fischer Ranger 108, and Line Blade Optic 104. If anyone has skied the Ranger both on the current model and previous year models your input is especially welcomed as I know they changed the entire line this year.

Open to all suggestions.

 The Line Blade Optic 96 is one of the best new skis for this weight. Line has done a nice job taking some DNA from the OG Blade and packaging it into something more all-mountain capable. It's powerful and locked into speed thanks to a solid feeling underfoot, and the profound stiffness of the ski makes it feel more at home up on edge and on hardpack. At 96mm, it floats just well enough to handle some softer snow, and the power that's available on this ski makes it a great choice in some heavier, choppier snow

 Even though this ski does offer good all-mountain versatility, it's really going to be built for a more powerful skiing style, and it likes to be on groomers. Buy the Line Blade Optic 96 if you want a ski built to crush groomers, regardless of how hard the snow is. But we'll be up for the challenge if you want to get a little adventurous through the bumps or tighter terrain.

 I've helped over a thousand people get the right equipment for them, and I'm here today at Powder Mountain in Utah testing out the Line Blade Optic 96 Ski. The line calls this ski a playful all-mountain ski, and that's exactly what it is

Updating a top-selling model is risky business, but we think Nordica nailed last year’s revamp of the Enforcer line. The mid-width “94,” which replaced the outgoing 93-millimeter ski, is our favorite of bunch thanks to its sturdy yet fun personality. Notable tweaks to the design, including greater use of carbon fiber and a lighter-weight front end that features less plastic and more wood, increased versatility. The result is that the ski has lots of pop as you combine turns on and off trail, grips exceptionally well on hardpack, and still can put a lot of power down with two sheets of metal. In a very crowded field of all-mountain options, the Enforcer’s do-everything character puts it at the top of our 2022 rankings.

In testing the ski, one standout trait we kept coming back to was its natural and predictable performance. From the very first run, we felt completely comfortable: the ski is surprisingly easy to turn, excels at a range of speeds, and hits a sweet spot in width for true coast-to-coast appeal. On all but the deepest days—during a late-season storm cycle, we did find ourselves wishing for more floatation—the Enforcer is a great match. The Nordica Enforcer 94 is our favorite ski for carving and ranks well overall in our all-mountain lineup. The Enforcer 94's Carbon Chassis and TWO Sheets of metal combine to create our favorite blend of edge grip, rebound, and overall precision while carving at higher speeds. Coming in at a versatile turn radius of 17.1 meters, we found it intuitive in shorter SL and longer GS turns. While the Enforcer is ideal for carving on the groomers, it also provides excellent versatility across the mountain in all snow conditions.
The adjustments made for the 2021-2022 model include Nordica's Carbon Chassis and True Tip technologies. Along with a slightly wider 94-millimeter waist width, the Enforcer 94 gains slightly better off-piste performance than its predecessor's 93-millimeter width underfoot. Despite these improvements, this ski can be challenging to pilot through heavy or deep powder. Skiers spending lots of time in softer or deeper snow may be better suited with a ski that is wider. But for the more experienced skier looking to tip and rip across most snow conditions, look no further than the Enforcer 94.
