 The 104, 114 share a similar graphic look, and that's mainly because they're targeted at similar types of skiing. They're big mountain chargers and really meant to ski in free ride train or in like big all mountain train, jump off cliffs, go fast, ski in chopped up variable snow. The 104 is a little bit stiffer and skis a little bit more traditionally than the 114, where the 114 is meant more specifically at soft snow and tracked up soft snow. The 104 will have better grip on and off piste and still be able to blast through chopped up soft snow

 And so we really, really like the way that the Vision ski. The Visions are really easy, accessible, smeary, but kind of have a freestyle-inspired take on freeride. The things that we kind of wanted to improve moving from the Vision to this collection is we wanted to improve its top-end performance, its high speed, stomp ability, go fast, drift, smear, all of the things that are kind of more inspired by high-end freeride, almost like a freeride world tour type of ski. And so we went and we developed this ski, taking hints from the Vision and updating them by giving it a longer sidecut and less overall taper in the width from the tip to the tail

 It is, we took a slightly forward mount point compared to most free ride skis in the category. So this one here is about five and a half back from, from center. And we took a more symmetrical side cut. And one of the best ways to make it a ski that can smear and drift and do all of those things that you want to do in modern free ride skiing is by turning up the tail

 And depending on what they it is, they'll pill either these or Kronix. It's a ski that's super versatile and people just are gravitating towards it and it's blowing people away when they demo it. And so even though it doesn't have metal, it's definitely a fan favorite of the collection. And yeah, if you're nervous that the 96 will be too much ski for you, definitely encourage you to check out the 92

 Hi, I'm Peter Brigham, I'm the ski engineer for Line Skis and I'm here today to talk to

 The Blade Optics are our new metal laminate freeride skis.

 It's completely different than anything else we've ever done and we're super excited to

 kind of walk through and show you what it's all about.

 So the Blade Optic has a couple things that make it unique.

 First is its shape. Its shape is new to Line but inspired by where we've been with the

 And so we really, really like the way that the Vision ski.

 The Visions are really easy, accessible, smeary, but kind of have a freestyle-inspired take

 The things that we kind of wanted to improve moving from the Vision to this collection

 is we wanted to improve its top-end performance, its high speed, stomp ability, go fast, drift,

 smear, all of the things that are kind of more inspired by high-end freeride, almost

 These skis are more symmetrical, so if you look at a Vision versus a Blade Optic, what

 we have here is the Blade Optic 104 and what we have here is a Vision 108.

 You can see that the width of the tip on the Vision 108 is much, much wider compared to

 the 104, where the underfoot and the tails are a lot more similar.

 And so the reason that is, is that the Visions tip, being a lot wider like this, pulls into

 a turn and then makes you release, whereas the Blade Optic is more wanting to run fall

 line down the hill instead of pulling across the hill.

 And when you're smearing, it's not trying to pull you across fall line.

 And so the Visions are really nimble and quick and the Blade Optics are go fast, smear, long

 radiuses and more just direct fall line skiing.

 When developing this ski, we worked with athletes and we kind of, we looked at what was existing

 in the market and we were listening to people like Dylan, Seger, Jacob Finger, Johnny Merrill,

 all these guys who are, who have freestyle roots, but really are skiing free ride, like

 all over the mountain, doing tricks all over the mountain.

 And we kept on hearing over and over again that you were either compromising by having

 a flat tail, traditional hard charging metal laminate ski that was really far back mount

 point or just in general too railed and too stuck in turns and very traditional in the

 way they skied or sacrificing by picking a more freestyle oriented ski that doesn't have

 the stability and the confidence that they need when they're going big and doing tricks

 And so we listened to that and kind of took the best of both worlds when designing this

 It is, we took a slightly forward mount point compared to most free ride skis in the category.

 So this one here is about five and a half back from, from center.

 And we took a more symmetrical side cut.

 And one of the best ways to make it a ski that can smear and drift and do all of those

 things that you want to do in modern free ride skiing is by turning up the tail.

 The other benefit of that is that you get the ability to land switch and pow if you

 need to, or to go and take this ski in and out of the park when you're not charging big

 And so it's a metal laminate ski that has its roots in freestyle and works for our athletes

 regardless of where they're skiing, which is really important to us.

 And so it's not a full on twin tip, but it has enough of a tail to get the job done.

 It's very, very similar to the vision collection and something that moving forward, it's just

 something that we want to do in a lot of our skis because it's important to us as a brand

 like with roots in freestyle, this is our take on metal laminate free ride.

 And we, even with the blade, we have a turned up tail that is meant for, for carving all
