You know, kind of within the line brand, I think the Vision 118 would be a good comparison in terms of it being the lighter, more free ride oriented version, whereas this more directional, a little bit more aggressive. And then in the tail, we see that as well, that rocker extends a little bit below where that sidewall starts or cap starts, I'm sorry

 So that leaves more of that playful feel, a little bit smearier of a ski, but still pretty hefty. We're got a 24 meter turn radius. This is the 186. Pretty stiff, you know, definitely has that nice bend to it, but you can definitely feel the rebound coming back at you on the end of the turn

 So it's nice that they've brought that forward into Blade Optic. But we do have that central spine starting up higher and wider than normal Blade. So that overdrive really puts more metal into this ski. And then those branches start right about here

 Hey skiers, it's Bob with SkiEssentials.com. Welcome to our 2023 ski test. I've got a Line

 Blade Optic 114 for you today. This is a new ski for 2023. These blade optics have replaced

 kind of where the sick day skis left off. You know, they didn't have anything as burly

 or as wide as this Blade Optic 114. So this is really a totally new model. It's also fairly

 distanced from the other three blade optic line models. So the 92, the one without metal,

 and then the 96 and the 104 are more similar. And then this one's a little bit of a departure

 in terms of shaping and profile and weight. So as we're getting wider, we're seeing more

 rocker, we're seeing a lower taper, and we're also seeing more weight. Just because of that

 sheer mass and volume, this thing ends up being a pretty burly and rugged ski. Definitely

 going to have to put this one more in that expert category. Someone really should know

 what they're doing when they get on this ski. It's got a long straight turn radius to it,

 and then also has that extra metal in it just due to the overall shape of the ski. So we

 do get the Aspen veneer wood core, so nice stringers of Aspen running tip to tail in

 this ski. And then we get their gas pedal metal overdrive metal laminate. So with Blade,

 we saw gas pedal metal come out. They're able to adjust the torsional stiffness of the ski

 with these metal branches that run from a central spine out to the edges. So when you

 tip the ski on edge, that metal really helps you pick it up and get it on edge. With a

 ski this wide, that's pretty important. So it's nice that they've brought that forward

 into Blade Optic. But we do have that central spine starting up higher and wider than normal

 Blade. So that overdrive really puts more metal into this ski. And then those branches

 start right about here. So where it goes to, I would say nearly full width underfoot, definitely

 more of that closer spread in the 114 than we see in the 104 and the 96. And then tapering

 to that central spine in the back. So almost true tip to tail metal. We do have that little,

 it's you know, there's no metal on the edges back here, nor in the front. So that leaves

 more of that playful feel, a little bit smearier of a ski, but still pretty hefty. We're got

 a 24 meter turn radius. This is the 186. Pretty stiff, you know, definitely has that nice bend

 to it, but you can definitely feel the rebound coming back at you on the end of the turn.

 Likes to go straight, likes to go fast, and has the weight to do so. We're at 23, excuse

 me, 2364 grams. So one of the heavier skis that we see come through here. And that's

 just gonna lead to extra stability and dampness for aggressive, more straight line skiing.

 From that shape and profile perspective, see some interesting stuff going on here. Also

 with the construction, we have this cap wall build. So the sidewall extends, you know,

 you can see that green here, you know, and then tapers into a cap construction and the

 tip and tail. Gosh, these are heavy. So it's capped from, from end, from where my fingers

 are to the tips and then to the tails with that green representing the sidewall under

 foot. Then we get that longer rocker as well extends a little bit below where that sidewall

 ends. So it is longer, has good splay to it. And then we see that added taper, a nice long

 smooth profile to that shape here. So really good floater does have that metal in it. So
