LG WM3488HW vs LG WM3998HBA

I replaced a 20 year old Maytag with a new LG washer/gas dryer set and I love it. Dropped my water bill and electric, since I switched from an electric dryer.

And come home to fully dry clothes now that I understand the right amount of load to place into the washer. I find that setting the drying cycle between 2-3 hours works for me. Again, it’s a long time but it’s very solvent and sort of soothing at the same time. Plus knowing that it is energy efficient gives me piece of mind as I am all about saving on electricity costs

Last December the drain pump failed. Not even two years old! Panels need to be removed and some fiddly work needs done to replace it. Now I keep getting fill errors and find that water has been getting pumped out for hours. My water bill was a disaster this month

You can imagine my disappointment when I measured the closet and realized it was .5" too small for a standard 27" washer. I was crestfallen. My only choices were now fixing the existing unit or buying another one exactly like it with the hope that the newer models have significantly improved

I bought the LG ventless washer/dryer because I have a small space. I wanted something larger capacity than a traditional stacked washer/dryer and buying separate appliances and stacking them would not fit in the space.

But if you're considering purchasing this you already know that, right? The drying capacity is half of the washing capacity. So, of you intend to wash and dry immediately after you need to be cognisant of your load size. Fourth, I haven't mastered the appropriate load size yet. My clothes still come out pretty wrinkled
