I bought these humidifiers on sale, and they have held up very well. I don't think I will purchase again in the future, though, as I'm sick of cleaning the dang things. They really do get slimy fast. So next time I'll opt for one that has a filter

At the end of the day, does its job, isn't too loud, and doesn't have much market competition

I like the clean, sleek look of the humidifier. The quietness with which it operates is also a plus. Occasionally, I can hear the water gurgle but that's because I have highly sensitive hearing. However, it doesn't disturb my sleep in the slightest

Why do I say this? Because I don't see the humidity levels drop or spike when I'm not using or using the unit. I have a pretty fast reacting hygrometer which detects the changes in 30 minutes max. Does it clean air? For sure it does, simply because the water in the tub gets dirty. But how big of a radius does it really affect? I'm not sure, I have no proof either way

It is easier to clean than my other humidifier, but it does still have some hard to reach places. I would repurchase this over my other humidifier though so I think this is worth it.

But there is a big catch with this humidifier (like with any humidifier): cleaning it is a nightmare. Yes you can pop the bottom and top case into the dish washer (rinse cycle only) and it washes off the dust. But the discs is what get super dirty with a yellowish slimy substance. And putting the discs in the dish washer has zero effect

I am happy with the unit. I use a brita water filter for the water that i use. Its just tough to clean it after some time. I am happy with the product

If I look back at all those filters I had to buy for the Vicks system it makes no sense. I don't know why you don't see this at Wal-Mart except for the fact Wal-Mart would not make any money on you coming back to buy those filters all the time. I lived in Vegas for 10 years and I wish I had found this sooner. Well worth the money, and yes, you say who would spend that kind of money, but you save on the filters

I filled the water tank and placed it to work on the Low mist setting ONLY. The tank was empty after exactly 27 hours. Yes, it worked great, very quiet, and efficient for 27 nonstop hours! So, 40? Not in this world, no matter what you do to it. Of course, it will work even less on the Medium and the High settings, but I went with the Low only

The area this is trying to service is about 800 sq feet, mostly open concept floor plan. At the highest setting on the coldest days when the heat is cranking this will hold that space at 27% - 32%. On milder days when the heat comes on and off throughout the day I can hold 35% at the middle fan setting. From a noise perspective, it is no louder than an average small fan
