 So far (knock on wood) this has worked as designed. Charges well, runs smoothly and has enough memory to do the simple tasks we have been needing it for. The number pad is a must-have for data entry (Excel) and the back-lit keyboard is icing on an already delicious cake.

Battery life, even with the back-lit keyboard and larger screen is very good. I have used it for a whole workday unplugged, while listening to music and it lasted well over 8 hours with some to spare.

The keyboard is average. A little clicky but not bad at all for under 500 dollars. It's mid tier, and that's not a bad thing.

An excellent mid-tier Chromebook.

  Touchpad is just enough sensitive and feels solid.  UI is great and it literally took me 2 minutes to setup with my Google account.  Still a few things to figure out, but so far so good

None of these changes are massive knocks against the Galaxy Chromebook 2, though, especially at this price point. It still looks quite nice, and the aluminum chassis is sturdy.
