 There's just something about it. It has a sort of cozy ambiance about it, that spiciness, that subtle smokiness, the woodiness, that peppery, spicy cardamom quality. It's definitely cozy smelling, so I personally do enjoy wearing it casually, and my wife wears it 10 times more than I do, but even then, I love smelling it on her, even when we're running errands or just performing casual tasks. I think this one is perfectly unisex

 My final verdict on this fragrance is it is one of the best in class, most iconic fragrances on the market, no doubt about that. Everybody knows Santel 33. If you don't know about it, you have probably been living under a rock, or you just don't have access to Le Labo fragrances where you live, and that's 100% forgivable. No knock there

LE LABO SANTAL 33 REVIEW! | MOST ICONIC NICHE FRAGRANCE?

My girl is otherwise very feminine, but this stuff wears surprisingly hot on her. Le Labo Santal 33: in her words, “in New York you either smell like or have f*cked someone who smells like Santal 33. And my ex didn’t wear Santal 33, so I had to take on the role” She doesnt wear it anymore because it’s too strong.

It’s ok. I wanted to see what the big hype was and why this is so expensive. I wasn’t thrilled at all but it does smell good if you like woodsy smells. I’d give it a three outta 5!

Hello Redditors of r/fragrance! Allow me to share my review with regards to Le Labo Santal 33.

Not exactly the same, but this is what finding Le Labo's Santal 33 was for me. Before moving to NYC, my SO and I had been making a lot of short trips there around 2018. Every time we went, I would smell this mystery scent everywhere.

I was in a bookstore one day, and a lady walked past me and smelled *amazing* so I had to ask her what perfume she had on. She told me it was Bvlgari Jasmin Noir, the old formulation, not the new Splendida version. I was pretty surprised because it is the signature of a friend of mine, and didn't smell like her. Regardless it was incredible and I became obsessed. 

I found a bottle online and then another back up, but I knew this couldn't last forever. When there is a finite amount of a perfume in the world it's a dangerous game falling in love with it. I even got the Splendida version to see if it was similar *enough.* In a way it is, it is superficially the same perfume - but there's *something* missing. I could never put my finger on it. 

So I tried finding the perfect Jasmine perfume. After all - it's right there in the name, right? It's **jasmin** noir, so that must be what I liked, but I was finding the wrong combination, or the wrong type of jasmine. I tried Lush Lust, Alien, Solinotes Jasmin, Guerlain Jardins de Bagatelle... none of them were right. I certainly found perfume I liked on my search for the perfect Jasmine, but they didn't have this *thing* I couldn't put my finger on. 

I decided to try sampling perfumes by the same nose as JN. There are two: Carlos Benaim, and Sophie Labbe. Sophie was the nose behind the Splendida remake, so I thought perhaps the *thing* was the result of Carlos' input. In his portfolio I stumbled upon Mariah Carey M, which being quite cheap decided to blind buy and see if I liked it. 

This was it! The dry down was exactly the *thing* I was after! I couldn't work out what it was, so what I did was cross check the notes between M and JN and found they both have amber and patchouli in the base - exactly what Splendida does not have! Realising this I went through all my favourite perfumes and noticed that of my favourite 18 perfumes 9 featured amber and 7 featured patchouli. Now I know that these are both fairly common notes, especially patchouli these days, but I also noticed that 4 out of my top 6 "absolute favourite would instantly rebuy if my house burned down" perfumes contained *both* amber and patchouli!

Has anyone else had a breakthrough like this? What is your process? Has there ever been that ~elusive *thing* you're trying to find/replicate?

I had a breakthrough in discovering what I love!

For me, santal 33 is 100 worth the hype (and the price). I know everyone smelled like this a few years ago, and many still do, but I LOVE it (on me and my husband). It projects, lasts all day, and is unisex.

So, when I came across Le Labo in SoHo last year, O really couldn't get my head around the concept- I mean, how on gods green earth does one come up with what feels like a totally boutique and personalised concept, but then only allows you to pick from a seemingly limited range of scents- and the price?!!? Surely the one part of this process you would really like to personalise is the scent itself?

 If you think about One Million, if you think about Ultra Violet, Red and a number of others from the house. So a lot of their fragrances do have the tendency of being kind of sweet leaning and of course Lady Million is another one. Actually this has gotten compared to one of the flankers on that line. This one was composed by Alberto Morillas, Fabrice Pellegrin and a couple of other perfumers

So Phantom is a vanilla heavy fragrance by Paco Rabanne and of course in you know all of their releases, maybe not all but most of their releases they do have some sweeter profiles. If you think about One Million, if you think about Ultra Violet, Red and a number of others from the house. So a lot of their fragrances do have the tendency of being kind of sweet leaning and of course Lady Million is another one

 In terms of the projection it projected really well for the first hour and a half of application beyond an arm's length and then it did start to sit a little bit closer to the skin right around hour four and then right around hour eight it became pretty much a skin scent you're ready to put on something else if you wish. In terms of the versatility I think you can wear this one all year round however because of some of the ingredients like the mango and the sandalwood and whatnot I can see people really wanting to wear this in the hotter weather it has more of like that tropical island oasis getaway kind of a vibe but I do think you can wear this one all year round. I think this will probably appeal to somebody who's a little bit younger because of that sweetness that it does contain however it's not too sweet but I think it's sweet enough that it's going to cater to a younger audience. I think this is great for casual scenarios in terms of something a bit more formal there's plenty of other options out there and I do think this one is a bit feminine leaning just because of that strong fruity personality

I don't see gender in fragrances but I think this one is going to lean traditionally feminine if you want to put it like that and in terms of the presentation I think it is a little kitschy kind of what you expected from Paco Rabanne you know you have the gold bullion and then you have the black light and then you have all of these fragrances that are inspired by really weird objects. The name Fame it's funny because many many years ago I reviewed a fragrance by Lady Gaga called Fame and that one is now discontinued so I guess Paco Rabanne was like okay my turn to use the name totally fine

I feel this perfume is definitely not gor the light hearted. It's quite strong , you only need a small spray (I went in with a few sprays 1st time and regretted it , it was very overpowering). Whilst I generally go for more feminine scents I still enjoyed this fragrance,  it was a bit more masculine than I thought it would be , on me anyway. I think it will be nice for evenings out , rather than for in say an office setting where it might be a bit much for those around you

 There's not many perfumes that use mango to a level that you can actually notice it in the smell. I do actually have an article on the best mango perfumes that I'll leave linked below. And the mango mixes well with the vanilla in here to create like a, like a mango cocktail, you know, like a porn star martini or something where it's like a vanilla-y fruit. And it reminds me of that

 I think it's quite a timeless scent. The fragrance is good for lasting. It's slightly unique by having the mango top note. The bottle is certainly unique and different

 Hi everybody, it's me Arlene, Delicious Delights, welcome to my channel. Today's review is a new fragrance release from Paco Rabanne. Paco Rabanne fame, it's the robot, marketed for women, super cute bottle, I honestly think this is the best bottle design for the entire year. I really like Paradox too, Prada Paradox, and of course I always have loved the Libre, the YSL Libre bottle designs

There you go, so, so adorable, she has like a nice little dress on, I just love the bottle

 As this one dries down though, I have to say that what's prominent on my skin is a musk scent, and I have talked about this musky lady musk so many times on my channel already, but yeah, what's prominent is an overwhelming, soft, creamy, powdery musk, and musk is not listed but that's what I smell on me, and there's also this kind of coconut-y feeling in it, and coconut is also not listed in here, but it's like a sweet, creamy, coconut-y, fruity, musky perfume, and because this musk on me is so overwhelming and overpowering, it takes over all of the notes under it, and so it's mostly a sweet, powdery musk, which isn't horrible, but not what I was expecting at all, there's olebenum in here, so I was expecting more of a fruity incense, but I don't really get incense in here, I do get the vanilla, I also get a little bit of a woody undertone in here as well as it dries down, but my experience with Paco Rabanne fame is fruity, overwhelming musk, the kind that smells synthetic, if you know what I mean, and sweet, creamy, powdery-ness, the performance wasn't bad, I did smell it throughout the day when I wore it, I don't know, I guess I had high hopes with this one because of the bottle, I wanted to love this one, but I'm not sure, I don't think I would buy this one for myself, although it smells alright, I was just a little bit let down with this one, especially as it dried down I enjoyed it less and less, but I do think it's a people pleasing, mass appealing kind of scent, if you like fruity, sweet perfumes and if you like the note of musk, it could just be my chemistry that pulls out that screechy kind of musk, but I do sense that note in many many new release designer perfumes, but that's just my personal experience, so yeah, not a bad release, not my favourite release, but the bottle is a plus, and if someone was selling an empty bottle of this, I would probably want to buy that just to have it sitting in my perfume collection because it's so cute, I also wouldn't mind a bottle of the phantom, but it's probably one that I wouldn't wear very often because I think there are better fragrances out there, so that was my quick review of Paco Rabanne Fame, if you've tried this one please let me know what you think of it, thank you so so much for tuning in and I'll see you guys soon in the next video, take care guys, buh-bye.
