I heard a news anchor I admire gush about this REPLICA scent and I had a hard time imagining a perfume with a fireplace smell to it and then I got it and I’m SO GLAD!!! Think smoky with chestnuts. Cheerful blaze against winter glaze…Never worn a unisex scent either, I tend toward girly florals, but this works either way-equally alluring and homey, with a slight ember spark to it. You-and everybody else-will love♥️love this!!!!

My girl is otherwise very feminine, but this stuff wears surprisingly hot on her. Le Labo Santal 33: in her words, “in New York you either smell like or have f*cked someone who smells like Santal 33. It’s ok. I wanted to see what the big hype was and why this is so expensive. I wasn’t thrilled at all but it does smell good if you like woodsy smells. I’d give it a three outta 5!

I have a couple other scents from Maison Margiela, but for this one I couldn't get past the sample bottle. It just smells straight up like cigarettes. I could get the same effect from a $10 pack of Marlboros.

Not exactly the same, but this is what finding Le Labo's Santal 33 was for me. Before moving to NYC, my SO and I had been making a lot of short trips there around 2018. Every time we went, I would smell this mystery scent everywhere.

Margiela - By The Fireplace: Very spicy and. woody at first, heavy on the palo santo/guiac wood and clove.

Santal 33 whisks you away, on to a straw hammock under the warm sun. Elements of woody yet amber-like notes, cascading through the air which remain appealingly fresh and playful, throughout the day (seriously though guys, 2 sprays of this will go easily for 12hours).

It is also truly an 'all day fragrance'. So don't worry about that. (No one pays a premium for a scent that fails to do its only job after 10 minutes!)
