 So one of Krua shapes mandates is build a wider board that rides like it's more narrow and nimble and they've really been able to pull that off mainly due to their thickness profile and their flex of this board and how that how that behaves. The blends really help but it's almost got a completely classic rear foot power camber I'd call it. There's still plenty of camber under that rear foot makes this board really poppy. So it's great for side hits carving out of things and jumping out of your carves

Best All Mountain Freestyle Snowboard?  Korua Shapes Otto Overview

 Welcome to the Tribute Lounge, I'm Mark Fawcett and this is the Karua Shapes Auto.

 So for Karua Shapes, this is the closest thing they have to a what you would consider a classic snowboard.

 Karua of course making like really outside the box, progressive, almost game changers, normally a little wider boards,

 definitely targeted towards advanced riders and riders that don't like toe and heel drag.

 So there's a little bit of that in this auto from the standpoint of it is a little wider.

 This is a 161 with a 26.8 waist, approximately an 8.3 meter side cut on this, which I felt when I rode it.

 It was spot on for a 161, it was spot on, never had the feeling that it hooked up on me too quick,

 could draw out big powerful turns, loved that aspect of it.

 Flex wise, they call it a seven and I would concur with that.

 Again, I ride pretty aggressive and I weigh 180 on a light day and had no problems with it tacoing up on me or anything.

 What makes this directional? Definitely more nose than tail to put it really simply.

 They have what's called float camber, i.e. a really smooth transition from the camber slowly blending into the rocker up front.

 These clean lines actually help you get the rest of the board contacting the snow and that's what I really felt about this thing.

 When I pushed into the middle of the board, I could feel the middle of the board without the two contact points over engaging

 or taking too much of the load, so I felt like this really uniform push along the whole effective edge of this board.

 The tail, plenty of pop, there's actually quite a bit of camber in this board.

 I mean, we haven't put a straight measure to it, but I mean, it's pushing a centimeter, I would guess,

 but it doesn't ride like that because of their long blends at either end.

 Again, I'm not a big fan and you know this if you've listened to me chat on any of these videos of boards that are too narrow

 or you have toe and heel drag, so at 26.8 I was really able to tip this baby over without any worry or issue of booting out.

 The construction of this, Krua does a really nice job of these.

 It's a really simple Biax fiberglass construction and they put the main focus on their wood core and their core profiling.

 So the thick to thin profile on this board is very classic, not a lot of like bells and whistles,

 really almost uniform flat through the entire midsection of the board,

 which when you start pushing on it will actually make the board bend in the middle a little bit more.

 Other brands actually make their boards thinner right in the middle to try and achieve that, soften up that mid flex.

 And they've done it just by simply making it a nice long flat platform on this particular board.

 Overall for like who would like this board, I mean any advanced rider that does all the owl mountain aspects,

 you know side hits, carving for sure, I mean that's like Krua's like backbone pedigree is like

 we want these boards to be able to carve really really well because of its width and that longer nose obviously slays the powder.

 Who is this board for? Definitely a wide audience, intermediates to ultra advanced,

 definitely folks that want an all mountain Krua that they want to ride switch with

 because this is definitely Krua's best switch riding board and there's really no loss in the powder.

 I mean maybe not quite as radical as some of their powder specific shapes,

 but with the float camber and how wide the board is it's going to float you up there real nice.
