This thing is considerably taller and your wrists and hands will fatigue and hurt after a day of typing. I don't know a better way to say this, but while the build quality is solid, the edges of the keys are "sharp", as is the edge of the frame. Again, I think a palm rest would fix all of this, but I'm ultimately going to look for a low-profile gaming keyboard and probably give this to one of my kids because my hands can't take it. Suggestions: Logitech should really include a palm rest with this, it might be one of the most perfect keyboards I've ever used and I can tell it's going to last a while

However, after spending so much on the keyboard itself, would it have killed the manufacturer to throw in the riser system? I guess that will be my next purchase. The cables are heavy braided cord and build quality feels solid. Wish it was bluetooth so that I didn't need to have a cord on my desk but that's life. I don't game so not really going to be using those capabilities too much

The good: I love that its a standard layout, the extra bulk doesn't bother me as i like having a 75% or TKL keyboard. The macro keys don't get much use but there are times when i just need some more keys whether it be in games or for work purposes. The palm rests are perfect and much better than the fabric ones that came optional on the original. Arrow keys are often left out of some custom split keyboards, and while you can use layers on the Dygma and ergodox I tend to just prefer the standard arrow keys Things to improve it to my ideal keyboard

For people who play and work a healthy amount, the Freestyle Edge is a fantastic solution.

And they removed the 3.5mm on the dongle! it was such a useful feature!! Plus in terms of software, the mic never worked, the buttons on the back never did anything unless bound to a logitech specific command, and the volume knob is so soft it just moves to easily, it it brushes your shirt collar prepare for ear rape.

Also, the funky technicolor backlighting is not really my taste. Hopefully I can make it just a regular color. My touch-typing accuracy has gone down -- getting my fingers lined up on the home row is critical. However, once again, hopefully, this will bounce back once I have more hours with the keyboard

Back lit LED, you can use Logitech software to control, or there are some pre-programmed onboard profiles that you can use. I have used the G10 1st gen, and I loved it, logitech has never really made a replacement for that one. I have also used the G910, that I took a few issues with. Over time, the G910 back light LED's started to die out, I hope they have resolved that issue with the G512

The "Tactile" typing feel is kinda chunky. The "Aircraft Grade Aluminum" is just a top plate, everything else is thick-ish plastic. **1 year later - The coating on my WASD keys is rubbing off, the space bar is cracked, and any clicky-ness has disappeared. Custom Roamer-G keycaps are pretty much impossible to get ahold of, and if you can, they're usually caps not made for backlighting
