 I do stills.  About the ball moving a bit after lockdown, can’t feel any (yet?).  About it not being stable enough for a heavy rig. I use a 100-400L attached to a Canon

After reading many reviews on a number of tripods, I bought this one because: • It is carbon fiber and has a ball head • It is as tall a I need it to be • It is light weight • It has a Monopod • It collapses to a size that fits my backpack • It is cheap  To the negative reviews about it being cheap, plastic parts, etc. um..

 Nowhere near the rated limit, but holds it well.  Bottom line is that this is a cheap tripod, but it has a combination of features that make it worth the $. I’m taking one point off for the clunkiness of flipping the center pole and switching to the monopole.

 At 61" it is about as high as can be viewed standing, but with the low end at about 13" (& then add camera height) there are likely situations where I'd like to go lower - some of the best landscape framings are closer to the ground. Reversing the center post would allow it to go lower but shooting with the camera upside down is not for me. If K&F were to provide an ca.5" accessory center post this would solve the problem - as far as I can find there are no 3rd party post extensions of 23mm diameter that could be cut to size

 A lightweight CNC rectangular plate holder would solve this but the $49 ball head, though pricey, gives added security with a weight penalty of only a couple of ounces.

 It is very light and can easily hold steady my 3-4LB camera+lens combinations. However, the arca plate clamp section is made of a plastic resin, looks like two halves glued together - in contrast the excellent lightweight plate that attaches to the camera is made of metal (CNC cut aluminum?). The chief issue here is that one side of the actual clamp is in the form of a bridge, it is not solid. My concern is that a break here might be catastrophic for the camera or lens

 Not likely to happen if you're careful, but stuff happens in real life and for me that's maybe too many $ riding on that resin bridge. A second issue is that the housing and screw that connects the clamp to the ball is slightly raised, probably to provide extra strength because metal clamps generally have the screw recessed. This extra height bumps into both my longer plates that slide along the clamp (mine are 85mm and 100mm long) and prevents being able to use their full length to set the camera+lens center of gravity over the center of the ball head. Because I like the tripod (and it may be unique for its height/weight combination), I looked for a replacement ball head

 I use a super telephoto lens that was really too heavy for it. If it was like an $80 tripod, I might keep it. But for this price, I need something that works a little better for all my uses.

 I tried using it to take video with my camera and it was terrible. It isn't designed to do that, but I really need a tripod that works for everything instead of several different ones for all different scenarios. You either had to have the ball head tight enough that it was jerky when you moved the camera in any direction or it was loose enough that the camera would slip if it wasn't being held up with my hand, which makes the tripod useless. Terrible for any video

This tripod has an excellent and smooth quick release system which is important for me especially when moving from location to location during the critical lighting window for outdoor shots.  The tripod's height is impressive and it can be extended with an option to attach additional weight at the centre of gravity point to make it even more secure

  The tripod's colour is vibrant and the finishing is smooth.  I personally prefer twist locks for the tripod legs, although this is definitely a matter of personal preference. The legs can also be extended outwards using the quick release clip to have an even lower height. This may be particularly helpful when trying to get a lower vantage point for artistic reasons, such as when focussing on the foreground

My tripod is now a bipod

It has zero stability at full length. Not easy to carry and not easy to open fast when there are pictures to shoot or a sunset to capture. Keeps falling and bending in all directions. Would never recommend to anyone else

While it is excellent for heavy cameras, when fully extended, its stability begins to waver. We rarely used it fully extended, especially when taking timed exposures. While it seems to be of high quality and quite sturdy at most heights, it isn't perfect. But, if travel is your focus, you've got to check this one out.

If you're shopping for a travel tripod on a budget, it'd be hard to top the TYCKA Rangers 56" Compact Travel Tripod. Not only is the TYCKA affordable, but it's also light making it ideal for backpacking or other adventures during which every ounce counts. Despite its featherlight weight, we were impressed to learn that the TYCKA is rated to support 26.5 pounds. This model also offers some bonus features such as a bubble level, angle marks for panning, and comfortable rubber grips. It's also nice that this model easily converts to a monopod for those instances where you don't require all three legs' maximum stability. 
We did find a few flaws while testing the TYCKA. The leg closure levers do not have adjustable tension, so they will likely wear out over time. We didn't find the panning action on this device to be particularly smooth &mdash; if you're going to be shooting video, you may want to go with a more stable model. The all-metal construction is nice, but when our TYCKA arrived, the tension knob was seized open. We were able to pry it loose with a pair of pliers, but it could have been a serious bummer if we didn't have tools readily available. Despite the drawbacks, we still think that this model is ideal for those looking for a light and affordable travel tripod that can support a lot of weight. 

 For reference, I shoot with a Canon 5D IV with attached battery pack and a 28-70 L 2.8 II or 70-200 L 2.8 II lens.  THE GOOD: On the whole, this thing is fairly sturdy

While there is a panorama ring on the tripod, I find it to be fairly unimpressive and unreliable

 I read the specs so I knew the weight, it is just that the reality is sometimes different. Having said that I also think it is a bit less quality than I hoped as well. The ball head is heavy and solid so that is good. However, the legs are pretty loose and sloppy
