I was trying different keyboards and on paper and for the price this one seemed really good. I don't want to pay $200 for a keyboard just to get backlight + bluetooth  However the build quality is just not there. It's not very solid, it doesn't even lay flat on my desk, it has a slight wobble. Also it's kind of pingy and loud when you type

 That being said, this one's got the aluminum frame and it's got a full RGB backlight.. So this one is a 110. Getting something like this for a $ 110 is just such a better buy, at least in my opinion, than going with, like Corsair or Logitech or Razer, or anyone else who is like a more major name brand gaming brand who's, making Their own mechanical keyboard

This wireless keyboard has THOCK! - Keychron K8 Pro

 You can see it right there. Cherry profile is a little bit shorter than oem, so that does improve the height a little bit. I did also try the hyperx put in keycaps in white, also an oem profile, and that was it was nice, the rgb looked nice, but it just wasn't what i like to feel in my keycaps. So i changed it to this one

 It doesn't really make a huge difference. I like the heft of my keyboards, that's it for the update. I hope it helped a little bit honestly. It'S probably just me ranting, but but that is my honest opinion about the keyboard

My Honest Thoughts: Keychron K8 One Week Update

 My real complaints are the thickness, it's considerably thicker than other TKL keyboards, so without any kind of wrist rest it's a bit of a stretch for the thumbs (but YMMV depending on how you're positioned while typing). The other major gripe is the stabilizers (or lack thereof) on the longer keys; the right shift key for example can easily come unseated depending where on the key its pressed and how hard (one end of the key essentially pops up and no longer travels up and down unless you forcibly even it out), but that's the only key I've experienced this problem with. A replacement version was slightly better, but I'm not optimistic for the longevity of this engineering choice.  It's currently being used on a secondary desktop, at this rate not sure it's going to cut it as a "daily driver"

I like the looks of the Drop CTRL keyboard, but it's pretty expensive and I want different switches and maybe keycaps. I also like the Keychron K8, but there isn't any software to control the RGB except the built in presets.

Again, the size and height of the board are much nicer and easier to deal with than the K2. I much prefer the full-size shift key which was something that bugged me with the K2, not enough to make a song and dance about but I forgot how nice it feels to have a little bit more room for error. 

I could be just seeing things but I also think that the backlighting is maybe a bit brighter on the K8. But that might just be because there's some extra room on the right side for the lights to shine through. 

 They instantly felt and sounded much better than what they did out of the box, so, if you're thinking about getting a K8, you definitely want to think about that. I also went in with the case foam which, it's hard to say how much of a difference it made as I'd only had the board about half an hour before I took it apart.

Another issue I had straight away with the K2, which, was partly my fault but partly not was the noise. The blues were incredibly loud, I enjoyed them at first and I quite liked the "tactility" of it but in the end, the tactility wasn't worth the pain to my ears. But the noise wasn't just due to the switches, another thing I found was that the keycaps were honestly woeful, they were so thin and flimsy that the bottoming out sound just seemed to resonate through the entire house (possibly into next door as well tbh).

  Cons: Funtion keys are important for software developers. In the instructions, steps to disable volume up and down to work as function keys is very tiny.

Quality of keyboard is very good. First time using Gateron brown switches and I like it very much.  Bluetooth, wired connection works well.  Windows OS, Mac OS support is good

 — I could get used to the K2 layout, except that I move among several keyboards regularly and having the Light Effects key at the top-right, where Del usually is, was always going to lead to the circus light show, or at least was going to require additional time on a regular basis to remind myself. As a touch typist, the idea is to never look at the keys. I’m also blind, so.

  - The virtual assistant key doesn’t summon Siri on IOS/IPadOS.  - Huge con for me is that the unit looks and feels like a DIY prototype. The frame is a non-textured plastic tray with switches mounted to an aluminum plate. There’s a quarter-inch of gap between the top plate and base of the ABS key caps

 Here’s hoping the BT module doesn’t crap out, which seems to be what gets all of these Bluetooth mechanical keyboards, both Keychron and IKBC.

 Pressing FN+L+[lighting] for six seconds locks the current light show, but get this: it doesn’t work to lock out the backlighting, because their light-show-enthusiast customers kept writing them that they couldn’t figure out how to turn the backlighting back on! Even though this is white LED-only, it still bounces, strobes, runs, explodes, and dances just like the RGB version, so that one has to cycle through more than 30 variants before getting back to “off.” The only solution is to lock in the least-silly lighting option.  - On the unit I received, some of the outer keys have a different tambre/pitch: spacebar, tab, capslock, and the latter two also wobble side to side as if they aren’t properly stabilized. With all the different sounds, typing is quite the percussion section

 I ordered the "Clicky" (satisfying click) blue switches, a decision I do not regret but one I thought would be more satisfying. The low profile keys, short stroke and lackluster click add up to a less than stellar typing feel. My generic mechanical keyboard from 5 years ago still clicks the crap out of this MX, talk about satisfying. I was hoping this keyboard would solve the multiple keyboard workspace issue I have but after plugging in the wireless MX and putting it through it's paces, I never ended up unplugging "Old Clunky"

 However, since I have had 4 devices hooked up (Mac Mini, Mac Book Pro, iPad and Win 10 PC) I would like to have 1 more slot for immediate usage. To be fair, the ability to drop / add a new device on the fly is so easy that 3 slots is more than reasonable. So as far as hitting all the bullet points on the product description list, the Wireless MX Mechanical keyboard does so in dependable Logitech fashion.  While the basics are met, there were some expectations that were not

  I totally dislike some of the keyboard layout. Specifically: 1. Lack of spacing between Function key groups. On a full-sized normal keyboard, there is extra space between F4 and F5, and again between F8 and F9
